Whether you are struggling with relationships, work, anxiety, depression, or feel "stuck," you are no longer alone in your journey. Entering therapy is a brave choice, and helping you to reach your personal goals is my objective when partnering with you. I provide a safe, professional, warm environment where you can process your circumstances and make the necessary changes to live the life you want to live.
In our first session together, we'll start with introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
A skill I have is to help you to identify your strengths and to motivate you to make the changes you desire. I will help you to see change as an opportunity for growth, not something to fear.
I enjoy working with clients who are willing to do the work to live the life they want. "If things don't change, nothing changes." My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality.
I will use CBT to assist you in changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to improve your mental and physical well-being. Your behaviors are determined by your thoughts, so helping you think effectively helps you do the things you want to do and stop doing the things you don't. CBT is goal-oriented, and I use practical strategies to challenge negative thoughts and beliefs.

I felt like she really listened to me and paid attention, which is something I am craving because I feel like no one listens to me. I feel like she has a well-rounded thought process and will take time working through my issues with me. She was also warm and welcoming and easy to talk to.

Julie Schrader has been the perfect counselor for my situation as an empty-nester mom with challenges in my marriage at this stage of life. She listens to my concerns and gives me practical suggestions, either to read portions of books or to ask certain questions, all within a Christian perspective (which is my choice). I feel more confident and happier after having therapy from Julie!
