Hello! My name is Nicholas Beard, and I am the owner of Bridgewater Behavioral Health. I am native of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and am currently working between Arizona and Texas. Over the last 10 years, I have trained and practiced in helping individuals with issues such as anxiety, depression, body image, relationships, family conflict, trauma, and sexual abuse. I am nationally certified and licensed with both the state of Arizona and Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
In our first session you can expect things to feel slightly more formal than they will during a typical session. Our first meeting is likely to include a lot of questions so I can try and get the bigger picture of who you are and where there are some areas for potential change and growth. Additionally, our first time interacting is a great opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have about the work I do or what the therapy process looks like.
After working in the community and school settings I have found my passion in working with children, and adolescents as well as adults. I currently only offer sessions via tele-health making the treatment of your mental health as convenient as possible.
Clients that I work with are often times struggling with finding the motivation needed to make lasting changes in their life. They know something has to change but are not sure what that looks like or how to take the next steps. I often tell my patients that I am not like many other therapists. I find it helpful to include a degree of honesty and frankness as well as light and laughter in the process. Life is heavy, making changes is hard, there is no rule that you have to cry during therapy or that laughing is not allowed along the way.
In providing eclectic therapy, each patient is treated with a combination of modalities that best fit the their individual needs. Eclectic therapy can include other treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Family Systems.
