What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session with one another, we will have briefs introductions and delve into what is bringing you to counseling at this time. We will then develop a plan on how to address your concerns and get you scheduled for your next appointment.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I primarily utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach in my counseling, but also client-centered, systemic, and creative approaches as well. I believe in meeting my clients where they are and tailoring therapy to their individual needs. We will work collaboratively to improve daily functioning and achieve a higher quality of life. My hope is that you will feel empowered and happier in the changes that you may make. If you are in need of assessment for gender-affirming services, I have experience in providing the necessary documentation to satisfy those requirements as well.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My biggest strengths are working with clients in the LGBTQ+, BIPOC, poly/non-monogamous, and kink/BDSM communities. I have spent many years working with these populations and have a deep understanding of many of the challenges faced within these communities. Other strengths that I have are helping those to navigate life transitions, interpersonal relationships, finding purpose, depression, and anxiety. Most people struggle with these things as they navigate life because of the challenges it proposes. I have assisted many clients in learning about themselves and making decisions to improve their overall perception of self and quality of life.
