I'm Chandrika Derricho, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Simpli Speaking Counseling, LLC. With over 12 years of experience , I specialize in helping adults and couples navigate life’s most difficult seasons, including anxiety, grief, depression, chronic stress, and relationship issues. I understand how overwhelming it can be to open up about your personal life, which is why I focus on creating a welcoming, down-to-earth space where you can feel safe simply speaking.
Our first session will be a chance for us to get to know each other in a supportive, low-pressure environment. We'll explore what brings you to therapy, discuss your personal history, and begin to identify your goals for our work together. You won’t be expected to share everything all at once. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you. This session is about building trust and setting the foundation for your journey to healing.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend clinical expertise with genuine connection. I offer a calm, compassionate presence while also challenging you to push past old patterns. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with a strong emphasis on your strengths and the healing power of safe, authentic connection. Over the past 12 years, I’ve worked with a diverse range of clients, each with unique stories. I’ve consistently helped them develop the insight, coping tools, and confidence needed to reclaim their lives. My background also includes extensive work with couples, and I’m known for being a neutral, empathic guide who helps both partners feel heard and empowered.
I work with adults (18+) and couples who are ready to face life’s challenges head-on, even if they’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of where to start. My ideal clients are navigating grief, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, or relationship issues such as infidelity, communication breakdown, or disconnection. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals who appear to “have it all together” on the outside but are silently struggling inside. Whether you’re coping with a significant life transition or trying to make sense of recurring emotional pain, I’m here to support you with compassion, structure, and proven strategies that lead to real change.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. During your sessions we will delve deep into your thoughts, patterns, and learned behaviors to determine the impact on your emotions and overall mental health. We will work together to replace negative thoughts, patterns, and behaviors with positive outlooks and coping skills.
