Hi, I’m Lanee’ Sambou, a Licensed Professional Counselor committed to helping individuals and couples navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions with compassion and clarity. My approach is holistic, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that each person has the innate capacity for healing and growth. I integrate evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches to support clients in building meaningful lives aligned with their values.
In our first session, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where we begin building a foundation of trust and safety. I’ll spend time getting to know you, learning what’s bringing you to therapy, and understanding your goals and values. We’ll also explore any immediate concerns you’d like to address, and I’ll explain how we can work together using the approaches that best fit your needs. My goal is to meet you where you are and create a space that feels supportive and empowering from day one.
My greatest strengths as a provider include my compassionate and client-centered approach, as well as my ability to integrate various therapeutic modalities to meet the diverse needs of my clients. I am committed to fostering a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions. My focus on strengths-based models helps clients build resilience and develop effective coping strategies to navigate life’s challenges.
I’m best positioned to support clients who are feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, whether that’s managing overwhelming emotions, struggling with relationships, navigating past trauma, or feeling disconnected from themselves. I work well with adults and couples who are open to self-exploration and ready to work toward lasting change. I also support those navigating grief, depression, anxiety, and major life transitions, using a strengths-based approach to help you reconnect with who you are at your core.
ACT allows me to support clients in building emotional flexibility and reconnecting with what matters most. I guide you in identifying your core values, accepting difficult internal experiences, and committing to meaningful action. Rather than fighting your emotions, ACT offers tools to help you live with more openness, presence, and alignment. I often use this with clients who feel stuck or overwhelmed by the gap between where they are and where they want to be.
When thoughts and behaviors start to feel like barriers, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help bring awareness and structure to what’s going on beneath the surface. I work with you to identify distorted thought patterns, challenge limiting beliefs, and create healthier coping strategies. This approach is especially helpful for managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress, and I tailor it to fit your unique goals and lived experience.
Emotions are at the heart of much of the work I do. I use Emotion-Focused Therapy to help you access, understand, and work through your emotional experiences—especially those that may feel confusing, painful, or hidden. Whether you’re working through personal challenges or relational struggles, EFT provides a space to connect with the deeper emotional layers that influence behavior, strengthen relationships, and support healing from within.
My style is deeply rooted in Person-Centered (Rogerian) Therapy—offering empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. I believe in holding space for your truth without judgment. Blending this with Narrative Therapy, I help you explore the stories you’ve been told or have told yourself, and support you in reshaping those narratives to better reflect your values, strengths, and growth. Together, we focus on meaning-making and self-discovery, allowing you to reclaim authorship of your life.
I approach every client through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing how trauma can shape thoughts, behaviors, and the body’s response to the world. My focus is on creating a safe, grounded space where you feel seen, respected, and empowered. I integrate somatic awareness, grounding techniques, and a strong emphasis on emotional safety to support healing without retraumatization. Whether you’re navigating complex trauma or subtle disruptions in your sense of self, I honor your pace and your process.
