So, who am I; and what am I doing here, eh? Also, do you struggle to talk about yourself ? - 'cause I sure do. Anyways, let's see... Personnally, I identify as a neurodiverse, cis-female, middle-aged (yes, over 40yo), divorced, single mother of two human loves and one canine love who enjoys spending time outdoors, flow arts, music, and dancing and singing and laughing. Also, learning is my favorite - like, I'm a full-on brain geek, for realz. Professionally, I hold licensure through the State of Tennessee Department of Health as a Professional Counselor and Mental Health Service Provider since March 2025 which allows me to independently provide Clinical Mental Health Counseling services - including assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of Mental and Behavioral Health issues, conditions, disorders, and illnesses. Proper and thorough clinical assessment, ethical practice, trauma-informed engagement and care, destigmatization, and advocacy are consistent characteristics of my approach toward Client care. As a therapist, I believe in building therapeutic relationships founded on honesty, transparency, respect, patience, alliance, and safety. My style of counseling is raw, uncut, and straight-forward while remaining sensitive, respectful, and culturally aware in offering constructive, caring, well-informed and growth-oriented feedback, guidance, and support. Ultimately, we're in this together. Experience: 15 years in the Restaurant/Bar Service Industry (technically not clinical experience; howerever, theoretically... iykyk :)) 5 years in Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) programming serving homeless and at-risk adolescents and young adults toward prevention and intervention of human trafficking 6 years in clinical treatment of Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders and Substance Use Disorders (yes, I have history) serving Adults from an Integrated Therapy approach primarily through Intensive Outpatient Programs providing group and individual therapy The door to your best self is open; all you have to do is walk through it. See you inside.

Hello and welcome. It means a lot that you’ve taken this step. Every person carries such a unique story shaped by resilience and strength. Sometimes, those stories can feel heavy or overwhelming, and we may find ourselves needing a space to breathe and process. My hope is to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel heard and empowered to heal. In our work together, I take a compassionate and collaborative approach that meets you where you are, supporting you in working through current challenges while building toward the future that is possible. I typically practice in the Solution-Focused umbrella, incorporating Narrative Therapy into my work. Solution-Focused Therapy helps you identify your strengths and move toward your goals; while Narrative Therapy encourages exploring one’s personal story from the past, separating the individual from their problems, and envisioning how you want your story to continue. My experience consists of helping clients with family conflicts, trauma and abuse, parenting issues, mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. I have taught parenting classes for many years, which allowed me to help parents strengthen their relationships with their children and build more confident, nurturing connections. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges families and individuals face, and reinforced my commitment to supporting each person’s unique journey toward healing and growth. I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, with 13 of those years dedicated to being a therapist. I am licensed to provide therapy to individuals across the state of Tennessee. It’s truly an honor to support people as they reconnect with themselves, rediscover hope, and move toward healing. Supporting others through life’s challenges is deeply fulfilling work, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be present with you on your journey.

Reaching out for therapy takes courage, and my goal is to make the process feel approachable from the very first session. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 14 years of experience helping adults and adolescents navigate ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine conversation built on trust, curiosity, and collaboration. Rather than simply listening or giving advice, I work alongside clients to better understand what's keeping them stuck while developing practical strategies that fit their lives. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies with compassion, humor when appropriate, and a focus on long-term growth.

Welcome! I’ve been working with individuals, couples and families pursuing counseling for more than over 19 years. My experience has centered around assisting adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, difficulty adjusting and adapting to the changes they are experiencing in life, grief and trauma. The philosophical foundation of my therapy is based on the understanding that what we think influences how we feel which impacts how we behave. Therefore, to change any behavior or feeling we first need to address our thinking. My goal in the counseling process is to assist you in improving the quality of your life by guiding you in how to manage, resolve, and/or reconcile those issues in your life creating difficulty for you.

I’m Johanna. I work with creative people, and with those who are working to heal, transition, and evolve from things that have hurt them. My approach blends traditional talk therapy with deeper work. With the use of Brainspotting and Jungian interventions, because real change rarely happens at the surface, we create deep meaningful change. When we're willing to go underneath, to the place where the old story lives, we can heal it and create room to become something new.

Hi im Greg Kirkham! Im a licensed therapist, practicing for over 21 years. I specialize in treating trauma. Now, you may be saying “but I don’t have trauma!” Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes and is often not recognized as such, but almost always has a significant impact on someone’s overall mental, physical and emotional health. Trauma also presents in many different forms, including struggles with depression, anxiety and anger management. Over my career I have worked with an array of populations, including children/families, juvenile sex offenders, and even convicts. Currently, I serve those who served us as a therapist with the VA in middle TN. Over the past ten years, I’ve seen evidence-based treatments work wonders with PTSD and trauma in our veterans. With GrowTherapy, I’m now able to provide these and other treatments to YOU! Whether you’re not real sure or highly motivated to get help, I’d love to discuss options and see if we’re a good fit! Thanks for reading and congratulations on taking the first step towards a healthier and more fulfilling life!

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out! Do you ever have those days when things are especially difficult?? Many of the people that I meet are looking for support with mental health, substance abuse, and managing traumatic events. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Currently, I work with adults and youth, and I'm a strong believer in the mental/physical health connection. I also support a small hospice team in my area so am comfortable having uncomfortable conversations. I believe in strengths-based recovery that looks at all the systems that can impact us. Bits and pieces of different models incorporated together tend to have the most benefit, based on the person's needs. I have seen so many great successes! I enjoy supporting the people I work with and going through their journey with them. I am currently licensed in IL, MI and TN. When I am not in sessions, you will find me hiking with the doggos, traveling with my social groups,, and going into "Mom Mode" with my three kids. I look forward to connecting with you :)

Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Texas and Tennessee with 30 years of counseling and ministry experience. I began as a minister of the Gospel in the Southern Baptist tradition in 1993 working with the homeless to overcome the struggles of addiction and hopelessness in North Carolina and Tennessee. From there, I became a case manager in a rural oupatient behavioral health clinic helping the chronically mentally ill live independently outside of the institutional settings. As my family of five children grew, my wife encouraged me to join the military in 2007 and for the next 13 years we served alongside our Soldiers and their Families as a chaplain. There, I learned through experience how to work through the stress of multiple transitions, the unyeilding demands for time and energy, and the unjust nature of toxic environments. I learned how to support those who wanted to strengthen themselves and their relationships in these environments and to ultimately be at peace with who they are and who they want to be. As I have matured in my training and become licensed in marriage and family therapy, I have found that I now specialize in using Solution Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals identify their strengths and the beliefs that are guiding their behavior. With this knowledge, people can begin to choose who they want to be.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience providing evidence-based, trauma-focused therapy to adults seeking emotional stability, personal growth, and meaningful change. My work is grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), supporting clients in building emotional awareness, psychological flexibility, and resilience. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic stress, and emotional dysregulation. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and integrative, combining talk therapy with hands-on, skills-based interventions that clients can actively practice both in and outside of session. Treatment focuses on emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, values-based decision-making, and healthier interpersonal functioning. I believe therapy is most effective when it is structured, supportive, and empowering. I work closely with clients to identify treatment goals, increase emotional insight, and develop practical tools that help them manage overwhelming emotions, reduce reactivity, and respond more intentionally to life’s challenges. Clients often describe my style as direct, compassionate, and focused on real-world application. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, confident, and equipped to manage anxiety, stress, depression, and emotional dysregulation while fostering long-term stability and personal growth.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Trauma and PTSD, is filtering therapists in Tennessee that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
