LCSW, 16 years of experience
New to Grow
My name is Juanelle, and I am a lifelong resident of Northeast Tennessee committed to providing therapy services to individuals across the state. With 24 years of experience at Eastman Chemical Company, I subsequently earned a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Tennessee. My professional background includes working with young adults in Sullivan County Drug Court and supporting individuals of all ages facing opioid dependence at Over Mountain Recovery. Additionally, I have provided therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and their families addressing a broad range of mental health challenges through Bristol Regional Counseling and Frontier Health’s school-based therapy programs. The resilience, strengths, and diverse backgrounds of those I have assisted continually inform and inspire my clinical practice.
In our initial session, we will review the paperwork you have completed beforehand and address any questions you may have. Together, we will develop an initial treatment plan outlining the goals you wish to achieve through therapy. Additionally, we will establish a safety plan to address any symptoms you are currently experiencing.
I have successfully established a secure and supportive environment that allows clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Therapy sessions are designed to provide a space where individuals are listened to, empowering them to gain insight and facilitate healing.
I would like to acknowledge your initiative in seeking positive change. Many individuals experience periods of anxiety and depression throughout their lives; however, when symptoms become overwhelming, therapeutic intervention can provide valuable support. My approach is to create a safe and supportive environment for you to explore strategies that may alleviate symptoms and help you manage various aspects of your life more effectively.
This therapeutic approach serves as the foundation of my practice. It begins by establishing a secure environment where clients can freely express and examine concerns relevant to their current circumstances. Additionally, this method is grounded in the principle that each individual possesses unique expertise regarding their own experiences.
CBT is often used in my practice because it examines the connection between thoughts, behaviors, and emotions in relation to current situations. It also involves homework assignments designed to offer opportunities for practicing and considering different perspectives on present circumstances.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment is implemented as necessary to facilitate the development of new coping skills when individuals experience tunnel vision or become immobilized by certain situations or behaviors. This therapeutic approach often enhances clients’ confidence in their ability to initiate positive changes and effectively overcome feelings of being stuck.
