LCSW, 14 years of experience
New to Grow
Life throws curve balls. You don't have to take them on alone. I believe in creating a safe environment to help you manage everything you're carrying. Hello, I’m Mary Tauscher, LCSW. I earned both my Bachelors and Masters of Social Work at the University of Georgia. In addition to private practice, I have experience working in community behavioral health for 7 years and in a brief intervention program for 5 years, providing therapy to adolescents and adults.
It takes courage to ask for help. Seeking support in therapy is the first step in making a positive change. In our first session, we will go over your needs, your background, and what you are looking for from therapy. Together, we establish treatment goals to guide our work together. Throughout every session, I work to help you develop and utilize coping mechanisms to make progress towards your goals.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I believe in establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients to work together to achieve established goals in a safe and trusting environment. I believe in meeting you where you are and finding what will best serve you in our work together.
I have worked with clients with various diagnoses and those seeking assistance in self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, parenting, and grief, among others. I have a passion for helping those that want to make positive changes in their life and reach their desired goals. I look forward to working with you!
I believe in exploring how our thoughts and beliefs impact our behavior and develop patterns in our lives.
Every client has strengths and skills they can utilize to make improvements in their life.
By exploring past beliefs and experiences, we can explore patterns impacting our behavior.
Being aware of our experiences allow us to recognize progress and when to use skills.
Supporting clients where they are allows for a collaborative and validating approach.
