I utilized Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Person-Centered approaches with each of my clients, with heavy emphasis on the power of our thoughts as they relate to our behaviors.
Whether you're seeking support during a difficult time, working through long-standing behavior patterns or simply looking to improve your life, my goal is to provide you with a comfortable and motivating environment to help you become the best version of yourself. Taking that first step towards therapy is challenging and my goal is to ensure you are provided with a safe and nonjudgemental environment where you can express yourself openly and develop effective coping skills to move toward the life you desire.

I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Youngstown State University and began my career working in foster care as a case manager, where I developed a strong foundation in advocacy, family systems, and trauma-informed care. I later expanded my clinical work as a mental health therapist in a school setting and within a collaborative program serving children involved in foster care, supporting clients through complex emotional and environmental challenges.
I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P). I believe healing occurs in a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment, where clients feel empowered, respected, and actively involved in their mental health journey.
I'm Cat, a Licensed Independent Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
I'm a Millennial Mom of 3 with some scrappy life experiences myself. I've worked extensively with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sex trafficking, and complex trauma. My approach is a great fit for teens and women who want to have a place where they can be completely real, to unpack whatever they need to, and feel accepted by someone who truly believes things will get better. Many of my Clients have lived through serious betrayal and felt confused, absent, or unhinged by what happened. Then they come to therapy because they've been living life "at a 10" and want hope that they don't have to be this mad, this triggered, or this impacted anymore. I help Clients understand why this is happening and how to move forward in a way that feels strong and sure.
For clients who desire it, I can integrate Biblical counseling. A space to explore how God's presence, grace, and Truth can support a full life.
Hi! In my work over the years, I have had the pleasure to see my clients succeed at life! I am compassionate, non-judgmental, and we will meet wherever you are and take you wherever you want to go. I look forward to working with you!

As a social worker therapist grounded in mindfulness theory, my dream client embodies a spirit of openness and motivation for change. This individual recognizes the challenges that come with personal growth but approaches therapy with a willingness to explore and confront these difficulties. They appreciate the journey of self-discovery and are eager to gain insights that can lead to meaningful transformation in their life.
In our sessions, I envision a collaborative environment where they feel safe to express their thoughts and emotions. They understand that progress may not always be linear, yet they remain committed to the process. This client values the therapeutic relationship and seeks guidance to cultivate greater self-awareness, resilience, and mindfulness in their daily life.
What I cherish most about this ideal client is their ability to reflect on their experiences and actively engage in their healing journey. They inspire me with their courage to face discomfort and their desire to learn and grow. Together, we would explore various mindfulness practices and therapeutic techniques, fostering a deep connection that empowers them to embrace change with compassion and patience.
Ultimately, my dream client is someone who is not only motivated to seek help but also appreciates the support and insight I can offer. In this partnership, we would work hand in hand to navigate the complexities of their experiences, celebrating each step toward a more fulfilled and mindful existence. This collaborative spirit of growth and understanding is what makes the therapeutic journey profoundly rewarding for both of us.

My name is Kerri Schofield. I am a passionate and curious person and I love what I get to do each day. I have primarily worked with adolescents and young adults, but have discovered a passion for working with trauma and grief for individuals of all ages. I have been in the mental health field for over 8 years working as a caser manager for kids 6 to 17, working at a rehab facility, working as a substance abuse counselor in a prison and running my private practice. I offer EMDR, Trauma Informed CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, and Mindfulness based approaches. Are you riding the hot mess express? When is the last time you had a good cry and not because you are angry? Do you feel like a robot and/or don't know what you want and need? Do you know exactly why you do what you do and still can't make any changes? Have you got in trouble because you used unhealthy coping skills and wants to learn how to do different? I have helped people from many different backgrounds and lived experiences get to a point where there they can live the life they want and not the one their past has created for them. I only have two rules for my clients: "you aren't allowed to say sorry because you didn't do anything wrong" and "you are allowed to tell me no". I use whatever method my client needs to help either process the past or learn new skills in the present. Not all therapy requires you to process the past.

I have been a social worker for 26+ years and enjoy working with people of all ages to help find techniques, interventions and solutions to grow emotionally and tackle barriers and navigate through the tough parts of life. I 100% believe that this is a team approach to treatment and the work done in the therapeutic environment is directed by the individual.
Are you grinding through days feeling down, empty, burned out, or like you just can’t keep doing this? Do you feel a heaviness inside that keeps coming back and makes everything harder? Are you so used to bottling up your emotions that you can hardly remember a time when you didn’t just keep everything inside? You might believe deep down that you are broken, that it’s your fault you feel this way, and you will always need to hide who you really are and what you really feel from others. Or maybe life or a relationship has just gotten really hard lately, and you don’t know where to go from here.
Do you feel like you're running at full capacity with no room left to breathe? On the surface, you have it all together: the high-performing professional, the dependable parent, the supportive partner. Underneath, it's different. Anxiety that won't quiet. Depression creeping in. Burnout from roles that never let you clock out. Often it's all of them at once, tangled together until they blur.
I bring an engineer's mindset to therapy. My background in Mechanical Engineering shaped how I see problems, not as isolated issues but as complex systems needing recalibration. Most high-achievers I work with are tired of surface-level talk therapy; they want results. Together, we analyze what's actually breaking down, whether it's depression, anxiety, career burnout, or family dynamics. We build a concrete evidence-based plan using tools such as DBT and EMDR to process trauma and tackle performance issues. For over a decade, I've guided clients through major life transitions, for example career pivots, new parenthood, and loss, toward lives rooted in purpose and sustainable well-being.

It is such a gift to be trusted by clients and to work together with a sense of safety. I act as a catalyst for change, growth and transformation. I specialize in lesbian/ gay/bisexual/transgender issues, family/interpersonal relationships, chronic/ terminal illnesses, generalized anxiety disorders, bipolar, depression, and trauma.
At age 24, I was faced with my own mortality which propelled me on a personal journey of healing and self-discovery. As a result, I am grateful to live each day to the fullest, cherishing every moment. I integrate holistic healing modalities that focus on the mind-body connection including relaxation/stress reduction techniques, guided imagery, visualization, meditation, somatic practices, incorporating polyvagal theory, QiGong, Reiki, pet therapy, creative arts, and movement techniques. For me, the therapeutic process is a learning process, one of exploration and healing. The client is the expert in his/her/their experience. I am here to guide you, to help you reach your goals, and to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.
