I am licensed independent social worker in the state of Ohio with a supervisory designation (LISW-S). I began working with the severe and mentally ill population within a homeless shelter at age 21. I discovered a love for helping and decided to pursue a career as a clinical psychotherapist. I obtained a degree from the University of Toledo with Master of Social Work, specializing in clinical mental health and a minor in psychology. Throughout the years I have gained experience working in a variety of setting addressing mental health. Rather you are struggling with a new mental health concerns or its been a life long struggle; I will ensure there is a safe space to discuss any problems in a judgement free zone. I will utilize a variety of approaches to empower you with tools needed to take significant life steps, to reach a goal you desire.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I primarily focus on helping adults. I have focused my therapeutic education on clinical adult mental health. I utilize system theory, cognitive behavior theory, dialectical behavioral theory, and empowerment theory. All of these concepts I have studied throughout my college career into post-graduate trainings. Each plays an important part throughout the therapeutic process and are utilize interchangeably.
An ideal client would display a dedication to personal growth and positive change. Their commitment is evident not only in their expressed desire to improve but also in their willingness to invest time and effort into the process outside of therapy. By agreeing to attend weekly sessions or twice per week sessions, the client shows reliability and a strong motivation to engage consistently in their journey. This regular participation reflects their openness to guidance, readiness to embrace new strategies, and determination to overcome any challenges that may arise. Through this sustained effort, the client is positioning themself for meaningful progress and lasting transformation.
