Working together we come up with goals that address the areas you need assistance in and design the treatment that is most relevant to you. I am well versed in CBT, DBT and ACT modalities and work with each client to identify what speaks to them and their needs. Reaching out was the first step in your journey. You can expect the initial session to include a review of your assessments, intake documents and possible additional assessment tools to best determine your needs. We will discuss your relevant background, family history, prior mental health treatment and what brought you to seek therapy.
I work from the modality that is best suited for each client. There is no "one size fits all" approach in therapy and I ensure the treatment is relevant to the client. I practice from CBT, DBT and ACT modalities as well as Trauma-Informed CBT. I work with the individual to create a plan that works for them including real-world tools that can be implemented immediately.
My biggest strengths are my ability to meet the individual where they are at and motivate them to make the best decisions. I have worked with criminal justice involved individuals for over 20 years and do not focus on the past, but building a brighter future.
I love working with individuals who don't realize their full potential. It is my passion to work with someone struggling with a low sense of self worth and help them push through this and live the life they were meant to live. Anyone who is hesitant or unsure about how therapy can help I create a space where they feel comfortable sharing and exploring their goals and hopes for the future.

Melissa has been great! This is mine and my boyfriend's first experience with couples therapy, Melissa has made us feel really comfortable opening up thus far. We are two sessions in and are excited to keep learning more.
