Hi, my name is Hao. Are you struggling with worries or negative thoughts that won’t quiet down? Do you find it difficult to stay positive and treat yourself with compassion? I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Ohio. I received my doctorate of Clinical Psychology, Psy.D., from Wright State University, School of Professional Psychology. I help clients build insight and practical skills to manage anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based methods. Whether you’re overwhelmed, caught in patterns of worry, or navigating difficult emotions or relationships, I’m here to help. Therapy can feel intimidating, but reaching out is a meaningful first step. You deserve a safe space to heal, grow, and reconnect with your strengths. In our work together, I’ll bring compassion, clarity, and structure as we work through the habits and hurdles holding you back. Let’s take that step together!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll get to know each other and talk about what brought you in. I’ll ask about your concerns, your history, and your goals. I’ll also explain how I work and what you can expect. You can share at your own pace and ask any questions. The goal is comfort and clarity. We won’t dive too deep right away. Instead, we’ll start building a safe connection and outline what you want from therapy. This helps us set a direction that feels supportive and manageable.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist. I often integrate elements of humanistic, multicultural, and interpersonal theory in my practice. Moreover, I believe in engaging clients with empathy and compassion. In addition to evidence-based CBT techniques, I believe in using people’s personal strengths to overcome their difficulties.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths lie in creating a safe, steady space where clients feel understood and not judged. I use clear, practical methods that help people break out of unhelpful cycles and gain new insight. Clients often share that I help them slow down, make sense of their emotions, and move forward with more confidence. My area of expertise is providing individual therapy for adult clients with mood disorders (i.e., anxiety and depression), adjustment disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, relationship issues, and cultural-related issues.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

We might be a good fit if you are an adult navigating anxiety, depression, overwhelming stress, or difficult life transitions — perhaps feeling stuck in cycles of worry, self-doubt, or unhelpful thinking. Maybe you struggle with trauma, interpersonal or cultural-related issues, or experience difficulties in relationships, self-esteem, or emotion regulation. I especially welcome clients who want a supportive, strengths-based approach: those who are motivated to explore how past experiences, core beliefs, and daily patterns shape their emotions and behaviors — and who want practical, evidence-based tools to create meaningful change. If you value a collaborative, respectful therapeutic relationship, and are open to learning, self-reflection, and growth (even if it’s hard at times), we’ll likely work well together. Whether you come to therapy hoping to reduce anxiety, heal from past wounds, understand yourself better, or build healthier relationships — I aim to provide a safe space, empathy, structure, and tools to help you understand more about yourself and move toward a life that feels more balanced, grounded, and aligned with your values.

Despite my technical troubles, he waited patiently for me to fix the sound to have our video appointment and it was late by the time I got it. He still spent the remainder of my appointment covering as much as possible & making me feel comfortable and confident that a plan will cone together quickly to get a much better life back as we work together.

He has a way of bringing a secondary perspective to my issues that i would otherwise be unable to see on my own. He's learned how to level with me in my own cadence so as to help me as much as possible. I feel very seen and heard within my sessions.
