About me

Hi. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio. I have worked extensively with adolescents and young adults who have had issues with trauma and loss in childhood. I also have much experience in working with depression, anxiety and loss. I have a special interest in working with anyone touched by adoption as I am an adoptee myself. It is very gratifying to see people of all ages overcome obstacles and to become the best version of themselves. I feel that one of my strengths is being able to put people at ease and being able to support them through the therapeutic process. Please understand that I do not do medication management.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I had been told once that therapy should be like a conversation. We will go over concerns, past history and goals but all within a very supportive framework. Therapy might be a little intimidating at first but usually, if one finds the right fit, it can feel very reassuring.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As I have stated above, I feel one of my greatest strengths is being able to put clients at ease and reassuring them that I want to understand their issues from their point of view. A supportive, caring therapeutic relationship is necessary for growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients who have a sense of humor, are somewhat open minded, not opposed to looking inward and have the belief that none of us are perfect. I like working together with people to help them discover their positive qualities, to relinquish their self doubt and to work toward the person they want to become. Or to recapture the person they once were. If you are looking to make a change in your life, let's get started!

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I believe the past is important as it impacts current functioning. Unhelpful patterns of behavior, feeling and thought often block one's ability to achieve personal growth. Recognizing these patterns and looking for more helpful coping skills can feel very empowering in enabling one to feel comfortable with him or herself and in interacting with others.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Learning to change unproductive thinking which has developed over the years can lead to changes in behavior and how one feels about him or herself as well as the world in general. We work together on recognizing thought processes that are no longer helpful in your life. Changing your thinking can be incredibly powerful.

Very easy rapport with Terri; I am recently retired and stuck in a whats next fear/excitement. Terri is helping me address how my past has influenced this fear helping me move forward with clarity.

She was great. I enjoyed my session and felt like I explored a lot of my feelings with her. Cannot wait for my next session.
