Hi, I’m Meagan. I work with adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next steps — especially when stress, anxiety, or major life transitions start to affect confidence, relationships, or daily functioning. I take a practical, supportive approach to therapy, helping you understand what’s getting in your way, identify your strengths, and develop skills you can actually use in real life. My goal is to help you feel more confident, grounded, and capable of managing challenges as you move toward the life you want.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and what’s been going on in your life. We’ll talk about the challenges you’re facing, what you’ve already tried, and what you’d like to be different. You don’t need to have everything figured out — we’ll take things at your pace. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions and get a feel for how I work. In follow-up sessions, we’ll focus on practical strategies, skill-building, and steady progress toward goals that matter to you. Please note: I’m unable to provide documentation or letters related to emotional support animals (ESAs), workplace or school accommodations, FMLA, disability, or legal matters. My work is focused on therapeutic support, skill-building, and goal-oriented care.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a counselor is blending evidence-based techniques with a warm, encouraging approach. I help clients break big challenges into manageable steps and develop tools they can use between sessions. I’m especially skilled at creating a nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to take action. Clients often appreciate my clear guidance, collaborative style, and focus on real-world changes that improve daily life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m a good fit for adults who want practical support for anxiety, stress, life transitions, or self-esteem concerns. Many of my clients are navigating career changes, relationship challenges, grief, or periods of feeling stuck or overwhelmed. If you’re looking for a therapist who is supportive, goal-oriented, and focused on helping you build confidence and coping skills, I may be a good fit for you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected—and how small, intentional changes can create meaningful improvements in daily life. In our work together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, stress responses, and habits that may be keeping you stuck, then develop practical strategies to shift them. My approach to CBT is collaborative and goal-oriented. Sessions often include skill-building, reflection, and real-world tools you can apply between sessions to manage stress, improve mood, strengthen confidence, and increase a sense of control. I tailor CBT techniques to your specific goals and lifestyle, making the work both practical and sustainable. CBT works exceptionally well for individuals who value structure, clarity, and forward momentum and want therapy to feel purposeful and applicable to everyday life.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build psychological flexibility and align their actions with their personal values. This approach encourages clients to accept difficult thoughts and emotions without judgment, while taking meaningful steps toward the life they want. In my practice, I integrate ACT techniques, such as mindfulness exercises, values clarification, and commitment strategies, to help clients navigate challenges, reduce distress, and foster growth. This method empowers clients to make choices that reflect their authentic goals and strengths.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and coping with stress. This evidence-based approach combines mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness strategies. In my practice, I teach clients practical tools to navigate challenging situations, increase self-awareness, and make choices that align with their goals and values. DBT empowers clients to create stability and balance in their lives while fostering personal growth and resilience.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to help clients explore ambivalence, clarify their values, and strengthen motivation for meaningful change. This approach is collaborative and non-judgmental, focusing on what matters most to you rather than pressure or advice-giving. I use it to support goal-setting, behavior change, and increased confidence in making decisions that align with your priorities.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify their goals and develop practical strategies to achieve them. This approach focuses on solutions rather than problems, highlighting clients’ existing strengths and resources. In my practice, I guide clients to recognize what is already working in their lives, set clear, achievable goals, and take actionable steps toward positive change. By emphasizing progress and practical solutions, SFBT empowers clients to create meaningful improvements efficiently and confidently.
