We will discuss different strategies on how to practice self care and effectively manage your emotions. My name is Shannon Pavas and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New Jersey. Whether you are experiencing severe anxiety or depression, relationship difficulties, low self esteem, or need to work through a specific dilemma, I will provide a safe and comfortable environment. I have been working in the Mental Health field since 2016 when I graduated with my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have had opportunities to work with underserved populations of all ages in Substance Abuse Treatment, before transitioning to work with youth and families in the community. I have worked with youth and families for over 5 years helping youth, parents and families in crisis, as well as helping parents learn to navigate the world of developmental diagnoses.

My mission as a psychotherapist is to assist individuals in developing satisfying and rewarding lives by working through past trauma, exploring negative thinking patterns, and implementing positive coping skills. I focus on the present with understanding that past thoughts & old behaviors can impact our current way of living. My belief is to work with each client as an individual and approach our work from not only a perspective of strength, but from a client centered and humanistic viewpoint. In other words, I believe the relationship between the therapist and client is equal and collaborative.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey. I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families in foster care and program settings. I have worked with individuals in a private practice setting for 10 years and currently work with individuals using a telehealth platform.
