If you're feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure of who you are outside of all the roles that you carry- you're not alone. Whether you are navigating the challenges of motherhood, adjusting to life transitions, or simply longing for a space to breathe and reconnect with yourself, I'm here to support you.
As a person-centered therapist, I believe every woman holds the capacity to make active changes in their life that bring long lasting growth. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy and authenticity - creating a space where you can be seen, heard, and valued.
Do you feel like you're running at full capacity with no room left to breathe? On the surface, you have it all together: the high-performing professional, the dependable parent, the supportive partner. Underneath, it's different. Anxiety that won't quiet. Depression creeping in. Burnout from roles that never let you clock out. Often it's all of them at once, tangled together until they blur.
I bring an engineer's mindset to therapy. My background in Mechanical Engineering shaped how I see problems, not as isolated issues but as complex systems needing recalibration. Most high-achievers I work with are tired of surface-level talk therapy; they want results. Together, we analyze what's actually breaking down, whether it's depression, anxiety, career burnout, or family dynamics. We build a concrete evidence-based plan using tools such as DBT and EMDR to process trauma and tackle performance issues. For over a decade, I've guided clients through major life transitions, for example career pivots, new parenthood, and loss, toward lives rooted in purpose and sustainable well-being.

Hello!
I admire your courage to begin the counseling process. I have over 13 years of experience as an independently licensed counselor. Over the years, I have had the humbling experience of listening to and empowering others to be a better version of themselves. I have worked with all ages including those who benefited from play therapy to those who reside in a nursing home. I have a blended approach to counseling based on the client's situational stressors.
I have also provided counseling through the eyes of a Christian for those who desire to incorporate God into our sessions. My end goal in counseling is to empower individuals to break any identified cycle of dysfunction for the next generation of their family. I have a calm and empathetic approach and set solid boundaries with my clients.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
Michelle Kessler, LPCC
I am an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) with experience in working with adults and children from in-patient as well as out-patient settings. I have worked with teenagers and young children for over 12 years. I specialize in working with children with trauma, anxiety, and depression.
I have a heart for working with kids and teens with traumatic experiences. My passion began while I was still in high school and wanted to be a teacher. I worked in various daycare facilities as well as having my own in-home daycare and decided I wanted to help kids (and adults) in a more in-depth manner. That is when I began my journey into social work and found my true calling in life.
I have experience working with children and adolescents who have been through, or are currently in, the child welfare system as well as working with older teens with substance abuse/misuse issues.
Life affects us all in challenging and positive ways. We connect on similarities and grow when differences are present. Acceptance, care, empathy, and genuineness are values I hold dear in life and in the therapy experience. I love having the opportunity to journey with others through life's beauty and valleys. Outside of the therapy world, I love spending time in nature, with animals, friends, and family! I enjoy reading, working out, and the opportunities life has to offer! Feel free to ask anything you would like to know!

I prefer that you contact me directly to schedule as I have 2 schedules that don't sync. PLEASE contact me first. It is possible if you schedule an appointment I would have to change it if I was already booked. Please call me directly and we will schedule so I don't have to reschedule the appointment that you schedule with me. I appreciate your patience and cooperation in the matter.

Anxiety & Sleeplessness
Fear, insomnia, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we work towards increasing sleep time, decreasing panic or anxiety attacks or symptoms, fully understanding where overwhelming emotions stem from, and how to move towards being your best self.
Relationships
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both partners and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
Trauma and Healing
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger after post-traumatic events. We work together through these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.

I’m glad you reached out for support. Taking that step can require courage and strength. Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, I’m dedicated to helping you find your way to better mental health.
As a therapist, I strive to help people navigate the complexities of life by supporting them as they identify struggles and tackle them head-on. I remain focused on adult individual therapy and work with clients who suffer from grief and loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and racial issues by gaining coping skills, boundaries, and a safe place to talk and process. I also work with relationship and/or job stressors, life transitions, and general support. I am passionate about helping those in helping professions by working with health professionals and first responders who are dealing with secondary trauma.
It is important for me to educate and incorporate the benefits of health and lifestyle, and connect the mind, body, and spiritual connection, and their impact on mental health. Working with clients on the mind, body, and spirit connection. My therapies include talk therapy, Solution-Focused brief therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. We will assess and find the therapy that best meets your needs. I will meet you where you are and work with you to identify goals so you can move toward emotional healing and well-being, so you can Survive, Persevere, and Thrive!
My approach is down to earth. I meet you where you are. I listen for what you do not say. I strike a balance between accepting you just as you are but gently motivating you to implement sustainable change that you can feel proud of. I am comfortable in spaces that feel embarrassing. I bring life experience into the therapy session in the way in which I show up for you.

My name is Amber. I am a licensed professional clinical counselor in the state of Ohio. My role is to empower you on this journey of self-actualization. I bring authenticity, warmth, and a solution-oriented approach. We will be working side by side to identify your goals, values, and strengths. From there, we will process past experiences to help you move on to becoming your best self. I have been helping clients achieve their goals for the past several years. These clients range from the age of one-year-old to over fifty-years-old. About 60% of my clients are 12 and under. In working with younger children, I have had the most success using telehealth when parents are present to monitor, arrange a predictable environment, and assist with any technical issues. In working with younger children, the parents’ role is vital. I work as a team with parents and caregivers to build a healthy relationship and find the appropriate strengths-based parenting strategies for the child. Recommended parenting techniques are largely based on the Conscious Discipline model which encourages mindful parenting. With younger children, the parents’ cooperation is imperative to reach desired behavioral goals. I also draw from the approaches outlined in Working with Challenging Youth by Brent Richardson, Ed.D.
