New to Grow
I specialize in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), military, trauma, and Christian counseling. My goal is to help people learn their emotions, develop coping skills that truly work, and understand what healthy relationships can truly look and feel like. My other specialties include working with teens adjusting to life changes and active-duty military service members, their families, and veterans with military life.
In the first two sessions, we begin to develop our therapeutic relationship and create a treatment plan. Then you begin to develop coping skills, understand your emotions, and how they impact you. During treatment, you will also create new, healthier boundaries and increase your positive sense of self-worth.
My treatment approach is tailored to you and your needs. We will collaborate to create goals to get you on the course to a better and healthier life. Together, we will help you to understand how you feel and why, talk about your feelings openly and honestly, rediscover who you are, and feel confident.
Sometimes our emotions can be very overwhelming, and learning how to manage those intense emotions and communicate those feelings to others is a key component in life. I work great with people who experience immense anger, deep depression and suicidal thoughts, and intense anxiety. I enjoy helping those who want to grow self-worth and confidence, and those who are adjusting to major life changes such as the loss of a loved one, marriage, divorce, or moving. As a Star Behavioral Health provider, I also help active duty service members, their families, and veterans as they experience deployments, separations, and life changes. Life is full of transitions — some are new and exciting, others overwhelming and scary. Whether you're feeling anxious, lonely, or unsure of what comes next, you're not alone. I’m here to support you by uncovering your strengths, building resilience, and finding confidence in your ability to cope with change. Healthy relationships are a part of the foundation of emotional well-being. Together, we’ll explore what healthy connections look and feel like, while also learning how to set boundaries that protect your peace and support your growth. With the right tools, support, and mindset, managing life’s challenges becomes not only possible — it becomes empowering.
I identify as
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is an excellent approach to addressing trauma, addiction, suicidality, personality disorders, mood disorders, and even couples counseling. DBT helps individuals to develop an understanding of their emotional experiences, learn to manage emotions, and then develop skills to communicate their emotions to others. It also helps people develop and maintain healthy relationships and boundaries. DBT provides so much more to others, helping with self-esteem and processing life changes and experiences.
Eclectic
I also incorporate treatment approaches and methods. I've trained and provided Christian counseling, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral health. When clients request Christian counseling, we incorporate biblical teachings and guidance in sessions while processing life experiences and understanding emotions.
