With over 21 years of experience in behavioral health, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients of all ages—from children to older adults—in settings such as private practice and inpatient care. I bring a calm, steady presence and strong listening skills to each session, helping clients uncover the root causes of their distress. My goal is to walk alongside you on your journey to healing, offering compassion, understanding, and practical tools that support your growth. Blessings
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will feel more like a friendly conversation than a formal meeting. I take a “front porch” approach to therapy—open, relaxed, and welcoming. You’ll have the space to share what’s been going on, ask any questions about the process, and get a sense of how I work. By the end of our time together, I’ll offer some initial insights and next steps so you feel comfortable and confident moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Listening is at the heart of my approach. While I provide guidance and feedback, I believe deeply in the power of being truly heard. Over the years, I’ve gathered a wide range of tools and techniques that I adapt to each person’s needs. In grief therapy, I use evidence-based methods that help clients process loss and find peace. My aim is always to create an atmosphere of calm and safety where healing can begin.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Having personally experienced profound loss, I understand how grief and trauma can shape a person’s life for years. My certifications in grief and trauma counseling allow me to provide both professional expertise and heartfelt empathy. I work with individuals dealing with grief, depression, mood disorders, and anxiety—helping them explore the “why” behind their emotions and find meaning and healing. My goal is to help clients feel supported, empowered, and ready to move toward a place of renewed hope.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is widely used and accepted by clinicians. CBT considers cognitions ( thinking, thoughts, negative and positive self-talk) and how our thoughts affect our behavior. I beat myself up by put downs towards myself,
Christian Counseling
I am a person of faith. I do not talk about religon, but if there is a client who wants a Christian point of view, I am willing to give a Christian perspective.

I felt very comfortable with Terry from the beginning of our session. In the past I have been guarded when it comes to the initial meetings with health care professionals. As the session progressed, I was very sure that this was the path I needed to follow. We have a great deal more to discuss in the future and I am certain that Terry will be the one I will take the journey with.

Terry was great. I enjoyed the conversation and the fact that he was focused on goals that I could actually accomplish. He has so much knowledge and has tools that I think could help.
