Hello, I'm Deborah Anderson. I've been a therapist for 20+ years. I went back to school following a medical retirement from the automotive industry. Due to being a non traditional student, I think I fell into what I was meant to do all along! My own personal life journey adds to the unique quality I bring to the therapeutic relationship.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we'll go over what brings you to therapy, what you would like to work on, and I can be of assistance. My approach is that we are partners in your healing journey. I have a clinical background on how to apply interventions and therapy modalities, but you're the expert in you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I feel like my greatest strength is that I've had many life experiences that compliment my professional experience. I'm empathetic but no nonsense so I will be caring but I will also hold you accountable for your portion of the work.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is willing to put in the work! Addressing our mental health concerns is an uphill journey. To think that it will be easy or without challenge is to set yourself up for disappointment and discouragement. To start with the mindset of "I've come to work and I am worthy of all the good things that come from hard work" will align us for positive outcomes.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My goal is to assist and support clients with identifying how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are intertwined and how we will work towards unraveling them to get to development of new values that will then develop new thoughts and behaviors that support improvement in those areas of concern.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

My goal is to support clients with defining what they see as problematic or the barriers of their life. I would then assist and support the client with moving forward in ways of developing what would then be defined as the solution. There would be a brainstorming process to develop and identify solutions, evaluation of the solutions and potential reevaluation if needed to determine the need for additional supports.

Christian Counseling

In the broad sense of the methodology, I believe that the word of God and the application of prayer with faith is paramount to healing for believers of Christ.
