When the burdens of our circumstances, relationships, or daily lives, in general, begin to weigh on our shoulders, finding help in a safe, therapeutic, non-judgmental space can begin to ease our heavy loads. My name is Caitlin Pierce, and I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist with 14+ years in the field. I have spent the bulk of my career working with families and individuals in both office and in-home settings. I have a history of training and practice in trauma-focused counseling, relationships (family, marriage, parenting), stress/anxiety management, and I also am a certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist. With this specialization, I can support wellness and health-related concerns such as self-esteem, body image, and making lifestyle changes like stress-reduction or shifting priorities. My favorite part of being a counselor is watching the people I work with begin to see a new "story" emerge or a shift in thinking around their presented problems. I like to help clients unlock the parts of their minds that remain stuck in a particular way of thinking or feeling that keeps them from feeling their best. I believe that all of us are capable of change, whether we're 18 or 85, and with healthy support and guidance, there is hope to feel better. I aim to bring my clients a conversational, personal, and humanistic counseling style. I look forward to working together!

People are struggling with anxiety, depression, and stress from different sources from jobs to relationships to child care. With 25 years of experience, I have counseled many around women's issues, relationship difficulties, job difficulties, chronic illness, and grief and loss. I work not only with the individual but the family as well when needed. I believe compassion is a key component to therapy as well as incorporating a holistic approach. I include traditional talk therapy (CBT) with mindfulness techniques, education, and practical coping skills that are simple and effective. My view on counseling is that it is a partnership based on support, trust and encouragement. Counseling is a process and my aim is to give the individual a safe space to process and a toolbox of coping skills that range from stress and anxiety management to processing difficult emotions around trauma. Relationships are important. Negotiating relationships can be difficult. Together, we can negotiate through the difficult emotions around the many issues we face today such as high anxiety, depression, loss of a family member, or chronic illness. My hope is to help with that negotiating and for that person to move forward with peace of mind and confidence.

My main focus as a therapist is to foster a space where you can be yourself. Where you can say or feel anything. I try to do this by listening, affirming, being curious, and collaborating with you to find a better way forward. Therapy is about looking at problems and finding new ways to handle them. This can mean learning how to manage difficult moments, gaining self-knowledge, searching for meaning, healing from old wounds, or journeying towards a more authentic, fully-formed version of yourself. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 15 years of experience working with adults, children, and families, across a range of therapeutic settings. I do my best to acknowledge the myriad ways in which social, cultural, and economic inequities shape how we understand ourselves and interact with the world. Currently, I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship problems, meaninglessness, and the residual impacts of past traumas.

As a licensed Psychologist, I first prioritize learning not only why a person is contacting me, but also to be able to relate to that person based on their individual needs and what are their expectations of therapy. I believe that we all need to have a sense of purpose or meaningfulness in our lives, something that our thoughts, emotions and life experiences contribute to the "heart" of our personalities. The process of healing from the challenges of life begins with a search for truth about our beliefs, habits and relationships. Physical health is affected by our mental health through the complex interactions between the brain and bodily functions. Interventions I use in my sessions include Cognitive Therapy, CBT, DBT and ACT. As a Psychologist, I have worked in private practice, long term care, and forensic and psychiatric hospitals. Even though these patient populations are diverse, the common denominator is the human "heart". My sessions work to connect a person's sense of meaning in life to help them overcome anxiety, depression and a loss of personal identity in this complex world.

You are here hoping to find that therapist who stands out to you because you want to find someone who can help you. The search can be overwhelming for some. Most of the profiles of therapists are going to say similar things. Most of which should be standard like brakes on a car. I cannot promise I'm the right one for you. Here is what I can tell you about my approach. I believe in being practical which means I will not use a lot of psycho-babble or fancy strategies. I have a tendency to be blunt. My wife says I'm the "bluntest politest man" she has ever met. I'm going to be real with you. I love couples/marriage counseling, and that is my main focus. However, about half of my clients have always been individuals. Some people just need a place to vent. Others need help solving a problem, and most people need a little of both. I know therapy might be a little intimidating or even scary to some. Try to think of it as a massage for your brain. It's a place where you can say whatever you want guilt-free.

About You Are you in a situation where friends and family are not enough help right now? There are times when almost everyone needs to talk to an objective person. If this is your first time in counseling finding out a little about about your counselor is just one of the steps you have to take. Another is understanding what counseling/therapy is. It's a confidential meeting with an objective professional trained to sort things out and identify if you are at risk of harming yourself because life is too painful to bear. If you are dealing with an unbearable situation like having fallen into addiction, being threatened of losing a job, a death in the family, a serious illness of your own, ongoing disability, a relationship going sour or breakup, loss of any kind, early recovery depression or anger, I can help you get back on track. Originally I was a New Yorker. I settled down in Massachusetts after an adventurous life and had a family later than most. Although I did work in human services with my bachelor's degree, I did not have the means to get an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling until I was an adult. When I did finally get my Master's degree, I was grateful to finally be helpful to my clients. I managed a short-term day program for people in early recovery and an inpatient program to detox long-term alcoholics. I worked at an outpatient community mental clinic, I realized I wanted to work with many different kinds of people. In my private practice, I created a warm and flexible environment where I could steer my course. I have now worked with people with substance abuse, anger issues, divorces, grief, work-related issues, family problems, early recovery, disability, chronic pain, and others. At this point, I am working just with this telehealth practice. I use client-centered therapy, solution-oriented therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and positive psychology. I can explain what these mean. Client-centered therapy means I focus with you on how you see your present situation. With this information, I help you find answers to the obstacles you face. Solution-oriented therapy focuses on building solutions to the present problems. We don’t talk as much about the problem as the answers and hopes, Cognitive Behavioral therapy teaches you how to recognize your unhelpful thought patterns and create healthy new ones.

Hi this is Carol. I am a licensed independent clinical social worker in eight states including Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Illinois. My career started in Pennsylvania where I attended Chestnut Hill College and received my Master's in Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy Option. It continued in upstate Pennsylvania and New York where I attended SUNY University of Buffalo and received my Master of Social Work Degree. I capped those off with a Psy.D. from CalSouthern University, received Magnum Cum Laude in 2012 using an online doctoral format. I am also an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor in the state of South Carolina. I was fortunate to have an opportunity to attend the University of South Carolina shortly after relocating there in 2016 where I received a certificate in Military Matters. If you are having flashbacks or memories of traumatic events that you cannot shake, we can disburse them using best evidence practices. If your anxiety has gotten out of control, we can combine forces to put you in control of the stressors and persistent thoughts that keep you from being your best and sleeping well at night. When depression makes you want to stay inside of your home or in bed each day, I have tools we can use to empower you and help you avoid guilt. For any problem that interferes with your life or life transitions, there is a tool in my toolbox that has the power to bring about change. If we need a tool from someone else's toolbox, I know how to either borrow that tool, gain that missing knowledge, or do a warm handoff to other resources and providers without missing a beat. I strongly believe in the unity of and interaction between the mind and body. The body keeps the score and emotional and physical assaults leave scars. I believe that a respectful level of humor enhances one's ability to grow and accept the dialectal events in life. Research tells us that a sense of humor helps people to learn and grow. Therapy is one of many ways in which we learn to navigate the roads and streams of life.

My name is Dr. Olushola Bakare, and I’m a board-certified Psychotherapist. I attended St Joseph College. I’m happy to help you today with any of your concerns. I enjoy empowering people and digging out their strengths. I don't ask fish to fly, neither do I ask birds to swim. I respect everyone's strengths and help my client recognize them. I love to highlight my client's strengths. I offer a safe, warm, therapeutic, judgment-free space for Adults (18+) and Older Adults (65+). I am sorry, but I do not accept clients who pay in cash. Also, every late cancellation or no-show accrues a late charge fee. It is my ethical duty to officially terminate our therapeutic relationship when it is reasonably clear that the client is no longer beneficent, services are no longer required, counseling no longer serves the client's needs and/or interests or Dr. Olushola Bakare, LMFT limits do not allow the provision of further counseling services. It is the policy of Dr. Olushola Bakare, LMFT, that our professional relationship will be terminated after a one-month consistent lapse of meeting with a client. Dr. Olushola Bakare, LMFT, will attempt to notify you of this change in status as soon as possible after one month. My ethical duty is to identify, be available, and care for current clients. It could feel awkward for our relationship to end, yet it is not meant to be discourteous in any way.
