LICSW, 30 years of experience
New to Grow
I’m a seasoned clinician with over 30 years experience in healthcare.I love what I do and, in particular, I enjoy helping people gain their best mental health and wellness potential. I would describe my practice as eclectic with extensive specialty training over the years. I specialize in working with adults and use a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Harm Reduction, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I enjoy helping people navigate the aging process and am skilled at supporting the end of life process. There are several aspects of mental health that I provide help with including depression, anxiety, psychosis, PTSD, poor self esteem, and bipolar illness. To support my own mental health, I exercise daily, love being in nature, and time with family. I also have a great sense of humor and enjoying making someone smile.
Our first session will be like a meet and greet. I will ask you a few simple questions to get started and encouraged clients to ask me questions also so we can begin to establish trust and rapport.
I pride myself in being present, listening intently, and meeting people where they are at in any particular moment in the process. As much as our work together can be serious and intense, I like my clients to leave the session feeling whole, held, and at peace with the session. I do use humor for levity but not at anyone's expense or inappropriately.
As a seasoned clinician, I am particularly interested in, and skilled at, helping people with chronic illness, co-occurring diseases, and aging. I also really like to help women going through transitions whether it be aging, menopause, or gender identity concerns. I also open my practice to the LGBTQ community and like folks from the community to feel seen, heard, and at ease while getting their mental health needs met.
I enjoy using this approach because it can address a multitude of emotional issues.
