Hi, I'm Aly! I’m a therapist who works with adults who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for something to change. I take a supportive but active approach, helping you understand why you think and feel the way you do, and then giving you practical tools to actually do something about it. I value creating a space where you can be real without feeling judged. Therapy with me is collaborative, and I’ll meet you where you’re at while helping you move forward in a way that feels meaningful and manageable.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and make sure this feels like a good fit. We’ll review any necessary logistics and background information, and I’ll ask questions to better understand what’s bringing you to therapy and where you feel stuck or need support. We’ll also begin discussing your goals—both short-term and longer-term—so we can start building a direction for our work together. Just as importantly, this is your space to ask questions and get a feel for my approach. Finding the right therapist is a personal decision, and I fully support you in choosing what feels like the best fit for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a balance of being both focused and flexible in therapy. I’ll show up ready to do the work with you and help guide you through the harder parts of the process, but I also know when to slow things down and create space for you to feel safe, supported, or even just take a breath. Working with me means that we will show up together to "get the work done" while also sharing laughs and celebrating the small wins of everyday life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who are ready for meaningful change and open to exploring themselves more deeply. Many of my clients feel stuck in patterns, overwhelmed by their thoughts or emotions, or unsure how to move forward despite wanting things to be different. I enjoy helping clients better understand their mental health by breaking down relevant psychological concepts in a way that feels clear and empowering. From there, we focus on practical strategies you can use in your daily life, so you’re not just talking about change—you’re actively creating it. My goal is to support you in moving toward a version of yourself that feels more grounded, confident, and aligned.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) serves as a foundational framework in my clinical work. It is an evidence-based, action-oriented approach that helps clients develop a more flexible and effective relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions, rather than attempting to eliminate them. In my practice, I use ACT to support clients in building psychological flexibility, which often leads to meaningful shifts in how they respond to distress and life challenges. I incorporate values-based work to help clients identify what matters most to them and use that as a guide for intentional, goal-directed behavior. This approach allows clients to make sustainable changes that are aligned with their personal values, even in the presence of discomfort.

Trauma-Focused CBT

As a trauma therapist, I understand that healing isn’t as simple as “thinking more positively.” Trauma can deeply impact the way we think, feel, and respond to the world around us. In my work, I use trauma-focused CBT to help clients recognize and gently challenge unhelpful thought patterns, while building practical coping strategies that actually work for a nervous system shaped by trauma. My approach is collaborative, paced, and focused on helping you feel safer, more grounded, and more in control of your experiences.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy can help with processing the loss of someone important, but grief isn’t always straightforward. Some relationships are complicated, and even when things weren’t all good, the loss can still have a deep impact. I also use grief work to support other types of loss—like the life you thought you’d have, changes in relationships, or the loss of a job, home, or stability. I focus on creating a space where you can process these experiences honestly and at your own pace, while finding ways to move forward that feel right for you.

Trauma Informed Care

Mindfulness-based therapy focuses on helping you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment, without judgment. This can be especially helpful for reducing anxiety, managing stress, and feeling more grounded in day-to-day life. In my practice, I use mindfulness to help clients slow down, better understand their internal experiences, and respond more intentionally rather than reacting automatically. These skills can create a greater sense of calm, clarity, and control over time.

Narrative

Narrative therapy is about understanding the “story” you’ve developed about yourself and your life, and how that story impacts the way you think, feel, and respond to things. Together, we look at where those patterns come from and how your experiences have shaped them. I also bring in grounding and regulation tools to help your body feel calmer, because it’s a lot easier to process and make changes when your nervous system isn’t overwhelmed. From there, we can start to shift those patterns in a way that feels more true to you.
