Are you in a situation where friends and family are not enough help right now? There are times when almost everyone needs to talk to an objective person. If this is your first time in counseling finding out a little about about your counselor is just one of the steps you have to take. Another is understanding what counseling/therapy is. It's a confidential meeting with an objective professional trained to sort things out and identify if you are at risk of harming yourself because life is too painful to bear. Suppose you are dealing with an unbearable situation such as being threatened of losing a job, a death in the family, a serious illness of your own, ongoing disability or addiction, a relationship going sour or breakup, loss of any kind, depression, and anxiety, I can help you get back on track. The reason is , I have lived a bit. I know life has its ups and downs. I was a New Yorker. Ifinally settled down in Massachusetts. Then I had a family later than most. Although I did work in human services with my bachelor's degree, I went back to school as an adult with a young child. I am so grateful to be this educated to help my clients. I ran an outpatient early recovery program, an inpatient program for long-term alcoholics, individual sessions at an outpatient community mental health clinic, and of course my private practice. This is who I am. I will be pleased to be your guide on your journey to a happier healthier life. ,

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You can feel free to ask me anything you want about my background as a therapist. If it's the first time in therapy Iwill be happy go over the forms you signed about confidentiality, its limits, the fees, and the Grow Therapy policies, I will go over the intake you filled out online and the short assessments. I will likely want to ask you some more questions about your health and how you are feeling that very day. We will make sure you feel safe and set up your first goal

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have seen many situations which seemed impossible to resolve become manageable. My skill is creating a safe place in the sessions so you can experience relief from your dependency on another person place or thing. In our sessions I teach you how to create that safe feeling in yourself. Although it seems almost like a miracle at first, the calm you get by depending on your inner strength is something you might have had as a child. You see it can get lost in the course of life’s ups and downs. When you depend on yourself you can always feel okay, can peace of mind, and at best a chill happiness.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

I believe people are basically good. Starting with the first session you are in charge of your therapy . My role is as a caring guide trained in empathetic listening and nonjudgmental values to support your journey. I will always help you focus on your positive qualities and see you as a whole person, not on just the crisis or situation that brought you into counseling. This is how you can turn any situation around to your benefit.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

With this goal setting treatment you can focus from your first session on what would make you happy again. We will set a goal in your first session and revisit it in different ways until you feel satisfied your life has turned around and you can get to where you want to go.

Interpersonal

It is a short-term therapy that helps you manage mood symptoms and improve interpersonal skills by addressing interpersonal challenges. We use situations in our lives at the moment that may be frustrating, depressing, or causing us anxiety and work on solving them with new coping skills so we can build our self-esteem and self-worth to where we want it to be.

Eclectic

I have found through my years of experience that it is best to draw on various theoretical orientations and techniques. I can help each person as the unique individual we are by not limiting myself to any one method. That is how completely different approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy, treat trauma in fewer sessions by exploring the past situation and then showing you how to rethink strategies that are effective in managing your life . For this purpose I use validation and help you to look forward as to how your make changes.

Motivational Interviewing

Collaboration is a partnership formed between the counselor and the client. In motivational interviewing, this relationship is based on the client's point of view and experiences. It is non-judgmental and respectful. This approach contrasts with some others where confrontation is used to bring out feelings.
