New to Grow
Hello, my name is Sofiely M. Franco, LMHC, LPC, I enjoy providing therapeutic support for individuals navigating depression, anxiety, and trauma. My approach is laid-back and personal and I create a safe, compassionate space for healing and growth. I value cultural humility. It’s fascinating to learn about other cultures on the clients own terms and see how that plays a role in clients lives.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In the first session we will identify initial goals and objectives to get an idea of the direction of treatment. It’s a get-to-know you session.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I incorporate music, laughter and when desired a faith based approach. People tend to be surprised as therapy with me “doesn’t feel like therapy .“
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are those who desire to not remain the same. Those who desire to be challenged in their thinking with gentle nudges to stay on track. An ideal client is also someone who feels stuck and needs a cheerleader for guidance and encouragement for a solution focused approach.
Faith based therapy
Faith is a coping tool no matter what your belief system is. Faith can be incorporated as an objective the patient is able to work on in between sessions. The therapist will check in during sessions for accountability.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Emphasis on the connection between thoughts, emotions and behavior is made through our sessions.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Culture plays an important role in everyone’s lives. Cultural humility helps to understand a person on their own terms. In some cases, some patients feel better understood by a provider who is also a person of color.
Mind-body approach
Brains are not detached from the body. It’s important to explain and expand on the mind-body connection to bring on awareness and hopefully change behavior as a whole.
