Hello, my name is Sofiely M. Franco, LMHC, LPC. I’m a therapist who shows up as my full, real self. Clients often tell me they feel seen, heard, and understood in a way they haven’t experienced before. I keep things simple, but we go deep. My style is honest, grounded, and real. I provide therapeutic support for individuals navigating depression, anxiety, and trauma. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin, you don’t have to face it alone. I believe therapy should feel like a safe and steady space where you can slow down, breathe, and begin to heal. My background shaped my strength, my compassion, and my heart for this work. I know what it’s like to navigate hard environments and still carry big dreams. I believe you can honor where you come from while also creating growth and change in your life. My approach is laid-back and personal. I aim to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself. I value cultural humility and believe your background, identity, and lived experiences matter deeply.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In the first session we will identify initial goals and objectives to get an idea of the direction of treatment. It’s a get-to-know you session.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
People tend to be surprised as therapy with me “doesn’t feel like therapy .“ My approach can be summed up in like this: Straight talk, Real growth, Honest joy. I will be honest with you, and I will also walk alongside you. We may talk about painful experiences, including trauma, but there is always space for hope — and even laughter. Healing does not have to feel stiff or clinical.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are those who desire to not remain the same. Those who desire to be challenged in their thinking with gentle nudges to stay on track. An ideal client is also someone who feels stuck and needs a cheerleader for guidance and encouragement for a solution focused approach. I work well with people from all walks of life — gay, straight, questioning, and everything in between. I am also a Christian. For clients who want to include faith in their therapy, I welcome that. At the same time, I deeply respect and support people of all beliefs or no faith at all. Above all, my goal is simple: I want you to feel truly seen and heard.
Faith based therapy
Adapting to a person's specific needs allows for flexibility in treatment and a person-centered approach. Faith is a coping tool no matter what your belief system is. Faith can be incorporated as an objective the patient is able to work on in between sessions. The therapist will check in during sessions for accountability.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Emphasis on the connection between thoughts, emotions and behavior is made through our sessions.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Culture plays an important role in everyone’s lives. Cultural humility helps to understand a person on their own terms. I find it meaningful to learn about each client’s culture on their own terms and to understand how it shapes their story and daily life. Together, we will explore your experiences with curiosity and care, honoring what makes you unique. In some cases, some patients feel better understood by a provider who is also a person of color.
Mind-body approach
Brains are not detached from the body. It’s important to explain and expand on the mind-body connection to bring on awareness and hopefully change behavior as a whole.
