New to Grow
My name is Elizabeth LaRose and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience in the field of mental health. I have worked with individuals and families throughout the lifespan, specializing in new transitions and changes. If you are currently navigating some difficult life challenges or experiences, I may be a good fit for you to support you in feeling prepared for when life happens. I primarily work with parents, especially mothers, adolescents and transitional/college aged youth. I have worked with new mothers to seasoned mothers. I have worked with teenagers who have had changing family dynamics or difficulty with school. I have also worked with young adults who are navigating relationship changes, college, etc. Many of the individuals I work with have experienced trauma in their lifetime and/or experience anxiety and overall stress.
During the first session, I like to explore what you are looking for in therapy and also discuss my approach. I do have intake questions I ask all clients to better understand, but I am open to meet you where you are ready to start.
I have a very warm and strengths based approach, which strives to help you feel comfortable and safe. My job is to partner with and help guide individuals through their journey, not tell them what to do, but I will provide gentle nudges when appropriate. Balance is an important value in my work.
Most of my experience has been working with families, often with mothers and latency aged/teenagers, who are in the middle of family changes or conflict. I have worked with new mothers and mothers of teenagers to support them in navigating their current position in motherhood. I also have worked with both adults and teenagers who have experienced trauma and anxiety.
Attachment-based
I have strong background with the ARC framework and have utilized this for 5+ years. I use this to explore your attachment style and how this may impact your relationships, anxiety, etc.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have a strong focus of exploring how your thoughts and feelings impact your current functioning.
Motivational Interviewing
I use this method when there is a specific change you are looking to make. This involves lots of reflecting back to you and sorting out the ambivalence to this change.
