I am licensed in Illinois with 11 years of professional therapy work experience. I also am a sociologist of 30 years, studying and teaching on behavior within society. I have experience helping clients with anxiety, stress, grief, trauma and abuse, relationship difficulties, and family conflicts. I treat everyone with compassion, sensitivity, and respect. Looking for coping skills to manage frequent daily stressors, sexual abuse trauma, depression or anxiety? I've been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for 23 years and have had a variety of different roles in the behavioral health field. I believe my personal and employment experiences over the years help to inform the way I am with clients.
While I work with adult individuals only at this time, I'm skilled in relationship dynamics and work with individuals who are also involved in therapy with their spouse or significant other. Sometimes individual therapy is required to address personal issues which impact the relationship.
Reaching out for help or trying therapy for the first time can be stressful for some due to past trauma, fear of vulnerability, trust issues, the unknown, etc. If you've made it this far, I'm glad you're pushing through the uncomfortableness in hopes of finding new skills or techniques to help improve your current situation.
I'm an LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive therapist.
**I'm licensed in IL, MI, IN, and NM.**

Entering the world of personal psychotherapy can be an exciting, yet a foreboding area, if you've not had that opportunity previously, I believe that my first goal is to be welcoming to each and every person. Over some weeks, we will explore your inner pursuits which will help you feel more comfortable in who you are and who you desire to be. For me personally, being alongside you, is a privilege that few people get to have, so I treat it as a sacred opportunity. Helping individuals reach their potential or heal a broken heart is an enormous responsibility, but also one a therapist will approach with care and encouragement.
Therapy can be a space to finally put some of that weight down. I work with women and mothers who are ready to step out of the cycle of overwhelm, perfectionism, and putting themselves last. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that are leaving you depleted and create space for greater balance, self-trust, and peace. You don’t have to become a different person or figure everything out on your own. You can learn to care for yourself without the guilt, set boundaries without apology, and reconnect with the woman beneath all the roles you carry. My goal is to help you feel grounded, capable, and more like yourself again.
My therapeutic style is integrative, blending elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques. I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma or life transitions. We’ll work to better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe space.
When we’re able to see things from a different perspective, it helps us find a better solution to the problem. I’m not someone who is going to tell you what to do, but someone who will help you problem solve and find what works best for you. I want to work with you and help you become a better and happier you!

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Illinois and Maine. I have experience working with clients in crisis with severe mental illness to adults experiencing depression and anxiety with chronic complex medical conditions.
Coping with life challenges is not something you have to go through alone. Many people seek therapy for support, information, and new ideas on how to better handle the curve balls that life can throw sometimes. I believe that human beings are incredibly resilient and sometimes need assistance in recognizing their own inner strength to create positive changes in their lives. The therapeutic relationship should be collaborative, built upon both mutual respect and independence, and I hope to empower my clients to find opportunities for personal growth so that they can move forward with their goals.
I have been a great support to those experiencing significant changes in their lives such as new medical diagnosis or crisis events.
Be proud of making this step forward toward your best self.
I look forward to working together!

My approach to counseling is to provide a strong therapeutic relationship tailored to your needs and goals in a safe, nonjudgmental, nurturing environment where healing can begin. I am passionate about working together to learn new tools for change when you feel overwhelmed, distressed, or stuck.
I aim to create a caring environment that invites one to explore one's personal story and find healing. Therapy focuses on discussing past and current patterns and coping skills to help people gain greater self-awareness and the ability to solve problems more effectively in the future.
When scheduling an appointment, we can consider other options because my availability is primarily in my private practice, and I have additional availability. Feel free to reach out if you are not able to find a time that matches your schedule.
I have been an LCSW for 6 years. I’ve worked in a variety of settings from child welfare to healthcare. I use a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, solution focused, and EMDR if appropriate.
Hiram Kirkendall is a U.S Army veteran. Client's who are stuck or at risk and need to make positive changes in their life are the clients that I help the most. Clients will learn skills to make positive changes. Clients who are stuck will learn to remove the anchors from their live. Clients will learn to be forward thinking instead of living in the past. I have a master degree from Chicago state. I have practiced as mental health counselor since 2012.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with years of experience supporting individuals through mental health challenges, trauma, addiction, and life transitions. As a Mexican and Filipino American woman, I bring a culturally informed approach that honors the impact of identity, community, and lived experience on healing.
I earned my Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Mental Health from the Jane Addams College of Social Work, and have worked in a variety of settings, including residential care for addiction, outpatient addiction treatment facilities, and community mental health care.
My work is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a deep respect for each person’s story. I draw from evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, EMDR, mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapy while focusing on strengths and self-awareness. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or seeking clarity, my goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered.
You are valued.
