Hello! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) based in Indiana. I am also licensed in Missouri. I received my Master's from Purdue University and have been practicing for 22 years. I help teenagers and adults with addictions, couples issues, depression, anxiety, sexual difficulties, like infidelity and porn addiction, as well as many other areas.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll begin with introductions, then process presenting issues bringing you into therapy. We will talk about background and other information that will help me get a good snapshot of you. We will discuss a plan and goals for therapy. I tend to take a lot of notes during the intake, but do not do this when meeting in subsequent sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I feel like I am good at connecting with others and helping them feel comfortable, especially after meeting a few sessions. I feel that I am well rounded and have worked with a lot of different populations and environments, from doing chemical addictions work, working with children and teenagers, doing couples therapy, and assisting with sexual behavioral issues. Client's who seem to enjoy working with me appreciate me being laid back and having a relaxed atmosphere. I feel I am a good conversationalist.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with teenagers and adults who are eager to improve and want to build a safe and supportive relationship with a therapist. My clients often struggle with interactions with others, have difficulty managing negative behaviors, and like to delve into how they think and feel.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I like to incorporate CBT techniques often. I find that working on assisting with how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact. I've often used safety plans, cycles, thought reframing, and thought stopping regularly in therapy.

Interpersonal

I find that the relationship between therapist and client often is one of the most important aspects of building comfort and reinforcing the ability to make positive changes. I often incorporate humor into sessions and feel I am good at assisting clients with analyzing and knowing themselves better.
