Working as a counselor within a myriad of settings and diverse populations for the last 13 years has allowed me to become the therapist that has established a safe, empathetic, and knowledgeable space for you to grow. My clinical expertise includes having worked within juvenile residential and outpatient, adult outpatient, hospital, private practice, and adult correctional settings. This experience has allowed me to work with individuals presenting with life stressors, changes, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, issues related to legal issues/incarceration, trauma, domestic violence, and sexual abuse.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Within our collaboration you can expect to build over time an understanding of how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are related and how to set personalized goals to make change. You can expect to leave each session with something to process alone or a skill to incorporate in your life and to discuss the results in the following session. I appreciate the collaboration with my clients and ask you take an active role in therapy and making changes.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients in the past have expressed that I am relatable with a warm and compassionate demeanor. Communication is important to me, and this often comes out in my sessions. I strive to create and authentic relationship with my clients that empowers, motivates, and challenges them to understand that they are worth the process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT with clients for the past thirteen years. It’s helped a myriad of individuals challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In using Solution Focused Brief Treatment we will actively look towards solutions. The objective is to identify what you do well in order to promote positive change. Through collaborative conversations, individuals are guided to imagine a future where their desired outcomes have been achieved. This approach empowers them to set specific, achievable goals and take practical steps towards realizing them.
