(he/him)
Hello, I am a licensed clinical social worker located in Chicago, Illinois. I work with people who desire a better understanding of who they are, who their authentic self is and integrating that self with their identity structure. I also work with people making life transition(s) and require a caring and listening ear to help guide them through the process. I provide individual, couples and family counseling.
We will spend a brief amount of time joining, sharing a bit of your family background, exploring your desired goals and outcomes and understanding any known resistances to change you may be aware of. It is important to me that a client and I connect. Much of the first session will focus on me listening to you. We will have a conversation, albeit somewhat guided.
I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 30 years and bring broad experience and perspective to my sessions. I believe that connecting with a client is paramount to establishing trust. Trusting that your provider cares for you, has your best interest at heart and provides you with reasonable and doable solutions is key to growth. If we don’t connect, no harm/no foul. We will agree to move on and I will assist with that process, if necessary.
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, in particular those who may be experiencing identity issues, coming out (at whatever age); seeking to enhance your current relationship (straight/LGBTQ); experiencing guidance during a significant life change; general mental health improvement.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Exploring what we believe about ourselves, our behavior and others can uncover important insights that can lead to change. A willingness to allow our beliefs to be challenged is our first step to gaining insight and relief.
Couples Counseling
Gaining insight into our partners experience can be healing and may lead to acquiring the necessary understandings to make more effective decisions on how to adjust, how to move forward and if necessary, how to decouple.
Family Therapy
Understanding how your family system may have played (or is playing) a role in your current experience can start the ball rolling to change.
Gender-affirming therapy
Exploring one’s gender, for some, can be a confusing and uncomfortable process to engage with. Working towards integration of one’s fuller self and fuller identity often leads to a path full of options vs filled with stumbling blocks.
Grief Therapy
Loss, past or present, can have lasting impact to one’s mental health and outlook. Death/divorce/detaching are often growth opportunities once one has allowed the grieving process to take hold.
