Hi, I’m Sierra (she/her). I help queer, neurodivergent babes caught in the pattern of people pleasing swap burnout for boundaries and self-doubt for self-love! As a lesbian woman with ADHD, raised in the Bible Belt, I know what it’s like to feel like you’re “too much” and “not enough” all at once. In my youth, I was the one holding space for everyone else. I navigated the world with a heart that was often deemed “too sensitive.” I became a chronic rescuer, fearful people would leave me if they didn’t need me. I poured myself into caretaking, not realizing how much I was abandoning myself in the process. Now, after diligent work with my shadow parts, I have relationships that can hold space for both my loved ones and myself. I now give myself permission to “be done” with spaces that no longer serve me rather than lingering for fear of change or hurt feelings. Therapy isn’t a quick fix, because nothing is actually broken. It is a continuous homecoming. Whether you’re navigating neurodivergence, queerness, debilitating overthinking, or the burnout of trying in vain to be everything to everyone, I’m here to support you. Together, we’ll untangle the internalized “shoulds,” reconnect you with your own internal compass, and build something softer, freer, and more sustainable. This is your invitation to come as you are, messy parts and all.

“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become” Carl Jung. The choice to “choose what to become” takes incredible courage, strength and perseverance. To help you get there, we will spend time understanding what's keeping you up at night or weighing you down during the day. My aim is to fully support you on this journey whilst always honoring your personal identity and lived experience. I've lived in different parts of the world as both a child and adult and this helps me to be particular sensitive to, and experienced in, cultural/identity issues together with the challenges of transitions, be they geographical, career/retirement, or relationships. I also have extensive experience of helping with addiction. It has been said that addiction is a "feelings disease" and whether it is a substance or behavioral addiction (e.g. gambling, food, spending, sex), I focus on addressing the addiction by resolving the feelings behind it together with providing practical support for long term recovery. Therapy looks different for everyone, and we will collaborate to create a supportive and empowering therapeutic relationship tailored to your specific needs. My clients say I am warm, friendly, easy to both talk to and to confide in. So, if you are facing challenges please do reach out. And thank you for taking the time to visit my profile.

I believe that mental wellness isn’t just individualistic; but includes the ecosystem surrounding the person. My praxis acknowledges and aims to support the village needed by all.  I’m also passionate about the transformative impact of safe and brave spaces for those who often experience exclusion. My career has afforded me opportunities to build trust with LGBTQ+, Black, Indigenous, Latina/o/x, and Refugee communities across the nation. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who is passionate about being a therapist and actually feels called to it. I believe that we all deserve to live a meaningful and fulfilled life, where we feel ACCEPTED, HEARD, SEEN, CARED FOR, and VALUED. I have a genuine interest about people… about how we became the people that we are, who and what influenced are decisions, what we believe, and how they contribute to the ways we think, feel and behave. I am zealous about helping people know and appreciate who they really are, and not just what people and experiences have conditioned them to believe they should be. My main areas of focus are on Anxiety, Attachment Issues, Self-Worth and Trauma where I infuse a mixture of CBT, EMDR, Inner Child, Parts Works and Reality therapy in our sessions to achieve your goals in therapy. However, the greatest help I provide is giving you different perspectives and insight that you may have not been considered before, which in turn may change the way you feel and think about the situation. It is my hope that after understanding how your past has shaped how you view your current circumstances, and presses on your future, that you can heal from it and move forward. My Christian faith is also a big part of who I am and how I view the world. For those interested in incorporating Christian counseling in sessions this can be an amazing way to grow your faith, and help to reestablish your belief in God and how He sees you. I understand that not everyone feels or believes the way I do, and that is perfectly fine. Being a Christian is not a requirement to meet with me, nor does it have to influence our sessions unless desired.

Hi! I'm one of those people who has always been interested in mental health and it's impact on the life the of the individual, their family, community, and society at large. I have collaborated with clients to improve their mental health and well-being in many different settings. My experience comes from working at a hospital Emergency Department, a community organization, and a mental health agency serving individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and homelessness. Additionally, I have conducted individual and group therapy in a clinical setting. I have learned in my counseling experience that successful results require collaboration, commitment, and intentionality by both parties, the client and counselor. The client, as the expert of their life takes an active role in the treatment process and we work together for their best outcome by participating in treatment goal setting and keeping the change process alive by completing homework assignments, as needed, between counseling sessions. My hope is that an honest, trusting, and respectful relationship is built as the client realizes their best outcomes.

Hello, I am Shaqueena. Are you tired of being tired? Do you feel that no one understands your situation or that no one can relate? Are you unsure if therapy is right for you? If you are here, then that means that you are ready and motivated to make some changes in your life. Seeking help can sometimes be tough, which is why I believe that we all experience things in our life that goes beyond our ability to cope and when that happens we need a little more assistance. As a licensed professional counselor, my ultimate goal is to first normalize seeking assistance by decreasing the stigma on mental health. In doing so, my goal is to assist individuals in their healing process, to empower individuals to become the best version of themselves and to help individuals to see that life is completely what you make it. My preference for treatment is to utilize a trauma-informed approach in addition to CBT, EMDR and Choice/Reality Therapy.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Georgia rather than a city like Atlanta?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Georgia from Athens to Savannah! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Georgia.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Spirituality?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Spirituality, is filtering therapists in Georgia that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
