I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and a National Certified Counselor with over 24 years experience in the field. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. I completed my internship in a private practice setting, and since that time, have worked in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. I have experience working with conditions including stress, relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance use disorders, trauma, couples counseling and grief counseling.
I love to provide a warm and safe space for clients to share. In an initial session, I usually briefly explore a client's background, then begin to explore the issues that are currently causing challenges. I want to hear what each person is wanting out of therapy, then we discuss how we can reach those goals together.
I utilize a combination of evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness practices.
I strive to build on a client's strengths to facilitate growth in their lives. I focus on building on a client's current abilities, teaching new skills, and empowering each person to become the best version of themselves.
