New to Grow
I entered this field in mid-life as a result of dissatisfaction in my previous field and a strong sense of my need to follow what I had always loved - psychology. After being trained in a wholistic psych program at Univ of West GA and getting additional trainings of depth psychotherapy with American Academy of Psychotherapists, for the last 9 years, I have been practicing Experiential Psychotherapy. My philosophy is rooted in Humanistic psychology, and an emphasis in the relationship between the therapist and client, in the growth of client, rather than pathology, and in focusing on the whole of the client, rather than in one aspect. I always work on myself, try to be aware of my own issues and any barriers to helping clients, and I do my best on self-growth. I try to be more curious about my clients' struggles and less judgmental. And I always trust in my clients' ability to help themselves with good support and insights to help them.
I allow clients to share in the first session the main reason for them to seek therapy. I try to provide a warm and accepting environment, where a client would feel more vulnerable and less defensive.
I have experienced loss and life suffering, as well as my own meaning-making of my suffering, which has been allowing me to open my heart to others people's life suffering. I see myself as a compassionate, non-judgmental and curious person, which help me to help me feel my clients' pain, to understand and empathize with their difficult life situations. I have had very good trainings also, which included many hours of other therapists' support through process groups, peer support and supervision, which have helped shape me positively as a therapist and as a human being in general.
I work with adults with variety of life issues, including depression, lack of meaning, loneliness, helplessness, low self-worth, issues related to adjustment, addiction, and other life issues.
My work is grounded depth psychotherapy approach that values the relationship of the therapist and client and what shows up in the present moment, including in therapy, among other areas of focus.
I focus on growth as a person for the client, rather than a focus on pathology. Also, I follow a wholistic approach to view the whole person in the client, rather than a focus on an aspect of a person, such as behavior or cognition.
I help clients to examine themselves, to increase their awareness of themselves, to pursue meaning.
I am a psychotherapist dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care for individuals. As a multiculturally oriented therapist, I deeply respect the unique backgrounds, values, and worldviews each client brings. Having lived and worked across diverse cultural settings, I understand how identity, family, spirituality, and social context shape our experiences of wellbeing and distress. My approach integrates empathy with curiosity — creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore themselves more fully and move toward greater wholeness.
