I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor and I have specializations in Marriage and Family Therapy and Crisis and Trauma counseling. I offer grief support, life transitions, and depression and anxiety management. I am here to tell you that it is ok to be strong and seek help. I have a strong passion for helping women, adolescents, and families of color begin the healing process from past trauma and move toward wholeness and wellness. I truly believe in the power of counseling and creating a safe therapeutic space for clients to share and heal.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to therapy. I will gather information about your current concerns, personal history, relationships, strengths, and goals for treatment. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about the therapeutic process and determine whether we are a good fit. Together, we will begin developing a plan tailored to your unique needs and identify goals that will support your healing, growth, and overall well-being.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy, creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. My experience working with individuals navigating trauma, crisis, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions allows me to meet clients where they are while helping them move toward meaningful change. I combine evidence-based practices with genuine empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a strengths-based perspective to empower clients to recognize their resilience, develop effective coping skills, and build the confidence needed to overcome challenges. My goal is to foster a collaborative therapeutic relationship that promotes healing, self-discovery, and lasting growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are women and men navigating life's challenges and transitions who are seeking a safe, supportive space to heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. I work with individuals experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, feelings of hopelessness, and difficulties related to self-worth and self-esteem. Many of my clients find themselves at a crossroads adjusting to major life changes, struggling with overwhelming emotions, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Together, we work to increase self-awareness, develop healthy coping strategies, build resilience, and create meaningful change that aligns with their values and goals.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into sessions by helping clients increase psychological flexibility through mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based action. I support clients in identifying and making room for difficult thoughts and emotions rather than avoiding or fighting them, while exploring how these experiences influence their behaviors. Together, we identify core values and develop practical steps that align with the life they want to create, empowering clients to respond to challenges with greater self-awareness, resilience, and intentionality.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and problematic behaviors. Through collaborative exploration, clients learn to recognize the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions, while developing healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. I incorporate cognitive restructuring, problem-solving, and skill-building interventions to help clients manage symptoms, improve coping strategies, and create meaningful behavioral changes that support their overall well-being.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build effective skills for managing intense emotions, navigating interpersonal relationships, and tolerating distress. I teach practical strategies such as mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to increase self-awareness and reduce impulsive or self-defeating behaviors. Through a supportive and validating therapeutic environment, I help clients balance acceptance of their current experiences while working toward meaningful change and personal growth.

Faith based therapy

I integrate faith-based counseling when it aligns with a client's beliefs, values, and treatment goals. By incorporating spiritual principles, prayer, scripture, and discussions of faith when appropriate, I help clients explore how their relationship with God can serve as a source of strength, hope, healing, and resilience. I create a respectful and nonjudgmental space where clients can process life challenges through both a clinical and spiritual lens, supporting their emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Compassion Focused

I utilize Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help clients develop greater self-compassion, reduce self-criticism, and foster a healthier relationship with themselves. Through guided exercises, mindfulness practices, and exploration of emotional experiences, I support clients in recognizing how shame, fear, and self-judgment may impact their well-being. Together, we work to cultivate self-kindness, emotional resilience, and a sense of safety, empowering clients to respond to themselves and others with greater understanding, compassion, and acceptance.
