Very well acquainted personally and professionally with Anxiety, I have developed a specialty in this area. My approach to Anxiety and Mental Health in general, is one of "working with" rather than "fighting against". I have found it effective to start therapy by focusing on where the client is at on any given moment, and together working our way to where the client wants to be. My therapy style is Solution-focused, with emphasis on Cognitive-Behavioral techniques, also informed by Systems Theory, Humanistic and Psychodynamic concepts. I have always been fascinated with the study of the human mind, especially the unconscious, and the impact personal perspective has on the circumstances we experience.

I earned my Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Since 2006, I have held a Mental Health Counseling License for the State of Florida. In addition to my clinical work, I have had the privilege of serving as a Clinical Supervisor, providing guidance and support to mental health programs, interns, volunteers, and administrative staff. With over 30 years of experience in the field, I am dedicated to supporting individuals and families on their journey towards improved mental well-being. Being fluent in both English and Spanish allows me to effectively connect with clients from diverse communities and cultures.

Because sleep quality is critical to physical and mental health I am passionate about helping people get good sleep. I received my PhD from Duke University and have been a practicing psychologist for many years. I work primarily with behavioral sleep medicine because sleep problems are so widespread and there are not enough specialists to meet the need. I continue working with people with anxiety, depression, and couples issues. The methods I use are evidence-based and trauma-informed. I am also an ordained member of the clergy (rabbi) and consider one's spirituality an important part of treatment for many, though not all people. I’ve practiced telehealth exclusively since early 2020. Most people like working this way because of convenience. Therapy is not adversely affected and I am even able to do hypnosis via telehealth.
