Hello there! Welcome to Grow Therapy. You may call me Paul. Do you find it difficult to connect with or find a therapist that places you first? I place a huge emphasis on listening to you while using a person-centered approach. I empower you to be able to identify what it is that is troubling you in a complex world of thoughts and emotions. We'll use a holistic model to integrate mind, body, and spirit. This encourages you to discover the skills or strategies that help you to be the best you can be. I help people learn to identify the root of their issue(s). This not only addresses the symptoms but improves healing at the core of the problem thereby promoting lasting change. I truly believe in a person's ability to grow and change as you travel down your pathway to mental health and well-being. Learning to live in the present allows us to experience healing and wellness in the here and now. Whether you're dealing with complex relationship issues that seem hopeless and overwhelming or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. I strive to create a safe and comfortable space where healing and growth are encouraged. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with trust, empathy and compassion while using evidence-based techniques so you can overcome barriers and obstacles that have been holding you back. I am honored to work with you and wish you all the best on your journey.
You can expect me to learn as much as I can about you and your situation in our first session. Building rapport is critical in creating a healthy therapeutic relationship. Moving forward, I use an integrated approach that you may find the most successful in achieving your goals and objectives. I always open our sessions by checking on how you're doing since our last session and what you desire to work on in today's visit. I like to make sure the time devoted to our sessions is the most productive it can be. I verify this by asking you "How do you think we're doing"?
I value a positive holistic approach to therapy. I think balance in life is very important and starts with having a good sense of self-esteem and attention given to good self-care. I highly value the therapeutic relationship and work hard to promote confidence and trust. I have over 12 years of experience working with a wide variety of mental health disorders. By building rapport and working at you're own pace, I have a high level of confidence in your ability to improve and/or recover from what's troubling you.

I have used CBT and experienced positive outcomes with clients dealing with anxiety and depression for many years. In using CBT, I explore the thinking process and the effect it has on a person's behavior. By using a collaborative method, I am able to create an environment that promotes healing and an opportunity for personal growth and well-being.
I have found DBT very helping in assisting my clients to get in touch with their emotional side and to live in the present moment. Through the process, a person learns to accept the feelings they experience rather than having an adversarial relationship with them. This helps eliminate internal strife and creates inner peace and contentment with themselves and the world around them.
I have worked with veterans and individuals who suffer from PTSD for many years. I use Trauma Informed Care to help my clients work through their trauma and find personal healing from the damages they have suffered as a result of that trauma. I truly believe that a person does not have to be a prisoner of their past.
I have had the pleasure of assisting a wide variety of couples over the years to work on the issues that have been the source of pain and difficulty in their relationship. By using a compassion focused approach, I assist couples in developing the communication skills needed to be able to understand each other and to Icreate the relationship they both desire to have.
