Hello there! Welcome to Grow Therapy. You may call me Paul. Do you find it difficult to connect with or find a therapist that places you first? I place a huge emphasis on listening to you while using a person-centered approach. I empower you to be able to identify what it is that is troubling you in a complex world of thoughts and emotions. We'll use a holistic model to integrate mind, body, and spirit. This encourages you to discover the skills or strategies that help you to be the best you can be. I help people learn to identify the root of their issue(s). This not only addresses the symptoms but improves healing at the core of the problem thereby promoting lasting change. I truly believe in a person's ability to grow and change as you travel down your pathway to mental health and well-being. Learning to live in the present allows us to experience healing and wellness in the here and now. Whether you're dealing with complex relationship issues that seem hopeless and overwhelming or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. I strive to create a safe and comfortable space where healing and growth are encouraged. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with trust, empathy and compassion while using evidence-based techniques so you can overcome barriers and obstacles that have been holding you back. I am honored to work with you and wish you all the best on your journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My name is Paul D. King. I am a board certified LPC in the state Texas and Florida. I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and specialize in working with individuals that struggle with Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD. I also have I have over 14 years experience working with couples providing marriage or couples counseling. I like to use the first session as an opportunity to get to know each other. This allows me to gather some background data and information so I can put together a good picture of the issues that may be bringing you to seek counseling. This also provides you the opportunity to determine if we are a good fit and have a good chemistry and energy to work together. I encourage my clients by reminding you that you are in charge and have full control over determining what you want to work on. I place a high value on being the best listener I can be. By placing you first, I strive to create a healthy therapeutic relationship built upon trust and confidentiality. This helps to establish a safe and comfortable environment which promotes healing and growth. The overall goal is to be the best version of you that you can be.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT and experienced positive outcomes with clients dealing with anxiety and depression for many years. In using CBT, I explore the thinking process and the effect it has on a person's behavior. By using a collaborative method, I am able to create an environment that promotes healing and an opportunity for personal growth and well-being.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have found DBT very helping in assisting my clients to get in touch with their emotional side and to live in the present moment. Through the process, a person learns to accept the feelings they experience rather than having an adversarial relationship with them. This helps eliminate internal strife and creates inner peace and contentment with themselves and the world around them.

Trauma Informed Care

I have worked with veterans and individuals who suffer from PTSD for many years. I use Trauma Informed Care to help my clients work through their trauma and find personal healing from the damages they have suffered as a result of that trauma. I truly believe that a person does not have to be a prisoner of their past.

Couples Counseling

I have had the pleasure of assisting a wide variety of couples over the years to work on the issues that have been the source of pain and difficulty in their relationship. By using a compassion focused approach, I assist couples in developing the communication skills needed to be able to understand each other and to Icreate the relationship they both desire to have.

This was my initial session with Paul. I was looking for an older man for understanding. I think I have found him.
