I am passionate about a healthy family system being at the utmost importance to allow an individual to live a fulfilled and well balanced lifestyle. My psychotherapy educational background, along with my concentration in both CBT and Solutions-Focused therapies assist me in my systemic approach to treatment both in the individual's heart and his or her mind as well as all of the physical environments the individual takes part in daily (work, school, home, social).
I’m a licensed mental health counselor (License #MH25984) committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, cultural understanding, and evidence-based care. Originally from South Africa, my path has taken me across continents—from Europe to the U.S., where I served as a medic in the Army. These diverse life experiences inform my work and deepen my dedication to healing.
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. My approach is client-centered and collaborative, rooted in the belief that therapy should feel safe, supportive, and tailored to your unique needs.

If you’re here, chances are life feels heavy right now, and maybe you’re tired of pretending you’re okay when you’re not. I get it. Being a teen or young adult can feel like too much sometimes; emotions are big, people don’t always understand, and everything seems to be changing all at once.
Hi, I’m Shimyne Homidas, LCSW, and I’m glad you’re here. Reaching out for support is a powerful first step, and you don’t have to do this alone. I am the heart behind In Your Space, a place for real conversations, real emotions, and real growth.
As a military daughter, sister, and granddaughter, I have experienced firsthand the unique challenges that come with military life. My family was stationed at Fort Stewart before we settled in Statesboro. I went on to complete my undergraduate degree in Child Psychology at Kaplan University and earned my Master's in Counseling from Wake Forest University. Since 2016, I have dedicated my career to working with children, adolescents, families, and adults. I achieved my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in 2021. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, and I believe in creating a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings. I specialize in addressing issues such as depression, ADHD, stress, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, children's mental/behavioral health, military and veteran support, family relationships, grief and bereavement, anxiety, and anger management. I have a certification in Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT); Anger management (CAMT) and Parent education (CPE).
When you work with me, you can expect a compassionate and collaborative approach. I strive to understand each client's unique story and work together to develop personalized strategies that promote healing and growth. Whether you are dealing with stress, navigating family dynamics, or seeking support for yourself, your child or teen, I am here to help.
BROKEN CRAYONS STILL COLOR! And I am living proof of that! Trauma, mistakes, bad decisions, regrets....none of it defines who we TRULY are inside. These experiences help us to grow stronger and learn more about ourselves in the long run. Growth and healing is what it's all about.
Hi! I'm Sabrina. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of working with children, adults, and families. I bring that experience to the therapy room. I have a high emotional intelligence, and I believe that EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION is a SUPERPOWER!!
I'm an advocate for family preservation and women's empowerment. Women play central roles in nurturing families and strengthening communities. However, they can lose themselves while caring for others. I love to help women prioritize their own self-care needs to help them be the best version of themselves when they show up for others. Let me remind you of who you are!
I especially enjoy working with teenagers and helping to bridge the communication gap within the family unit that often shows up as children get older. I am Christian and I have a wealth of experience with African American families and am LGBTQ+ friendly.
I offer a solution focused approach to therapy. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy empowers clients to own their abilities in solving life’s problems and recognize their strengths. Rather than traditional psychotherapy that focuses on how a problem was derived, SFT allows for a goal-oriented focus to problem-solving.
I am available in the late afternoons/evenings, and I am accepting new clients.
Hello, I’m Yolande Maxius, a licensed clinical social worker with expertise in various therapy techniques, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). If you’re struggling with mental health issues, I’m here to offer my assistance and support.
Navigating through life’s challenges can be overwhelming, and it’s important to remember that seeking help is a sign of strength. As a trained professional, I provide a safe and compassionate space for individuals to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
With EMDR, I utilize a specialized approach that can be highly effective in addressing past traumas, anxiety, phobias, and other mental health concerns. EMDR therapy helps to reprocess distressing memories and experiences, allowing for healing and positive change. By accessing the brain’s natural ability to heal, we can work together to promote resilience and foster emotional well-being.
Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, or the aftermath of a traumatic event, I am here to support you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery. My goal is to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your emotions, gain insight, and develop effective coping strategies.
I'm bilingual (English/Spanish). Are you feeling overwhelmed due to the demands of daily life? Do you find yourself in a cycle of anxiety, stress, or depression? Are you navigating complex decisions or life transitions that leave you uncertain about the future? Has your relationship lost the love and intimacy it once had? Have you observed a strain in communication with your partner? Is your relationship facing difficulties due to a breakdown in trust resulting from infidelity or betrayal? Has your marriage ended and left you grieving? Are you and your partner planning to go separate but unsure how to do it peacefully?
In addition to my 10-plus years of clinical experience and I am also an AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, a credential that ensures the public I am uniquely qualified to treat a wide range of sexual issues. AASECT certification protects consumers by distinguishing those therapists who have achieved rigorous standards and the highest levels of clinical competence.
You have taken a courageous step by seeking counseling, and I would be honored to help you meet your goals.
I have worked as a counselor in Florida since 1983 and have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 1988. I have worked in numerous inpatient and outpatient settings, gaining experience with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I am confident I can help you with anxiety, depression, substance use, anger, ADHD, and other concerns.
In addition to counseling, I love spending quiet time in nature (woods, beach, mountains), visiting art museums and galleries, and getting some exercise. For me, these are quiet episodes of escape from the challenges of life. I also love live music, but not because it's quiet.

Hi, I’m Carolyn, owner of Blooming Bright Counseling and a therapist passionate about supporting neurodivergent children, teens, and adults as they navigate anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based, blending evidence-based therapies with nervous system-informed care to help clients feel safe, understood, and empowered. I strive to create a supportive space where clients can build coping skills, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with their authentic selves at their own pace.
I became a therapist because I deeply believe people deserve safe, compassionate spaces where they can be fully themselves — messy, hopeful, hurting, and growing — without fear of judgment. Watching clients rediscover their inner light, reclaim their strengths, and gradually step into their power is the most meaningful and humbling part of my work.
I am Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York and Florida. I am also certified as a substance abuse counselor in New York (CASAC) and Florida (CAC). My extensive expertise, combined with my empathetic and empowering approach, has contributed towards helping clients like you discover your strengths and achieve meaningful change. Clients can expect to feel more in tune with themselves and more optimistic after one session.
I am a licensed clinical social worker committed to having a successful therapeutic relationship with clients. I like to empower and collaboratively work with clients to address their concerns, reach their personal goals and optimal potentials. I've always wanted to help people and I've always been a really social person; therapy allows me to do both and serve clients who may not have sought therapy before. Being a Black woman, I understand that people who look like me are least likely to seek therapy; this is one of the reasons I chose to become a therapist. I love interacting with clients from all different backgrounds as this widens my therapeutic practice. I received my undergraduate degree from FSU and my MSW degree from FIU.
Hey there! I'm Paige, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in the sunny state of Florida. My passion lies in empowering individuals who are prepared to embark on a transformative journey toward a brighter future. With a wealth of experience spanning various demographics and challenges, I specialize in supporting those navigating neurodiversity (such as Autism and ADHD), trauma (including survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence), substance abuse, and the complexities of anxiety and depression.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by experiences that are difficult to make sense of - whether that’s anxiety, past or present trauma, relationship challenges, or simply the strain of getting through each day.
I work with individuals navigating a wide range of challenges, whether finding it hard to cope, or functioning on the outside while struggling internally. Many of my clients have experienced difficult or painful life events and are seeking a space where they can feel understood, supported, and free from judgment.
My approach is thoughtful, grounded, and tailored to each individual. I will meet you where you are, at a pace that feels manageable. Together, we will work to make sense of your experiences, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and develop practical ways to help you feel more stable, more in control, and more like yourself again.
I bring both professional training and real-life perspective to my work, allowing me to connect with clients in a genuine and down-to-earth way. Therapy with me is not about quick fixes—it’s about meaningful, lasting change and having someone alongside you who understands how difficult things can feel.
Reaching out for therapy is a big step, and I aim to make the process as supportive and straightforward as possible from the beginning. An initial conversation can help determine whether working together feels like the right fit, provide a sense of what the process might look like, and address any questions you may have. I would welcome the opportunity to connect.
Welcome!
I am Sarah and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified School Counselor in Florida. My 20 years of clinical experience have given me opportunity to work with a diverse population and in various therapeutic settings from Residential treatment, outpatient, to in-home therapy. These experiences have shaped me both personally and professionally.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Although I have had opportunities to help clients work through different needs, I have a wealth of experience particularly working with clients who have experienced trauma, those experiencing anxiety and depression, difficulty with relationships and communication, difficulty managing stress or stressful events. Additionally, I have experience working families helping build healthy, secure attachments between parents and children.
I believe therapists best serve their clients by walking beside them with a strength -based and client- centered approach. Through a strong therapeutic relationship, clients are able to change the way they see themselves, heal from previous or current hurts, and change the way they interact with others.
My goal is to partner and collaborate with my clients to identify what goals the client wishes to work on, identify coping strategies that work most effectively for them, and help the client better understand what has caused the current distress they are experiencing. My intention behind this approach is to support and empower clients to continuing to grow far past their final therapy session.

Hi, I’m Chelse. I became a therapist because I believe no one should have to navigate life’s heaviest seasons alone. With a Master’s from the University of West Georgia and seven years of clinical experience, I’ve dedicated much of my career to supporting individuals of all ages as they heal their relationship with food and their bodies. Whether you're dealing with an eating disorder or just feeling overwhelmed by life, I'm here to help you find your footing - without any judgment.
Whether you are a parent watching your child struggle or an adult trying to find your own way forward, I want you to know you're not alone. I work with children, teens, and adults (ages 6 and up), creating a space where you can let your guard down and just be heard. My goal isn't just to listen, though - it’s to give you real, proven tools to handle heavy emotions, break out of frustrating ruts, and finally feel like yourself again.
A good therapy relationship starts with trust, but it also requires the right expertise. While I treat a range of challenges - including depression, anger, and the messy transitions that kids face growing up - my primary focus is supporting individuals struggling with eating disorders. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Together, we’ll focus on building practical strategies that fit your actual life, empowering you or your family to move past the survival phase and find real, lasting relief.

Everyone in life ( including therapists at times) need someone to talk to in order to help resolve problems, manage stress, process trauma or enhance coping skills. I believe in looking at what you want to accomplish as the goal of therapy and then working on skills to achieve that goal. I utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques as well as person-centered techniques and when needed will involve the family if the client is willing and if it will enhance our work together. I believe everyone has the tools inside them to achieve their goals; it is just about unlocking them and utilizing them. I have worked extensively with trauma survivors and have utilized mindfulness exercises. I also have worked extensively with clients who have co-occurring disorders including depression/anxiety along with substance use disorder. I also have work extensively with teenagers and LGTBQ+ community.
I can’t think of anything more rewarding than helping people heal and get better. I graduated from the New School for Social Research and have practiced with all types of client problems. I welcome each new interaction as a chance to help someone discover who they were really meant to be and how to have a life worth living. I am well-versed in problems of anxiety, depression, and sources of trauma and its relief. I look forward to working with you!
Hi, I’m Mercedes Harrison— and I help youth and adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their next chapter move from self-doubt to clarity and confident action.
Whether you're a child struggling to understand big emotions, a teenager trying to make sense of growing pressures, a young adult feeling lost in transitions, or someone further along in life wondering, “Is this really it?” — I’m here to help you find your footing again.
I know how heavy it can feel to carry anxious thoughts, self-criticism, or a sense that you're falling behind. Maybe you're caught in comparison, struggling to make decisions, or just unsure of what you truly want. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
In our work together, we’ll create a space that’s calm, compassionate, and free of judgment. We'll begin to untangle the thoughts and patterns that are keeping you stuck, reconnect with your values, and build a sense of direction that feels true to you — one small, manageable step at a time.
I support clients in learning to trust themselves, speak more kindly to their inner world, and take action from a place of clarity rather than fear. My approach is grounded, supportive, and tailored to where you are — whether you’re just starting to explore who you are, or ready to make meaningful changes in your life.
This is about helping you come home to yourself — with more confidence, clarity, and alignment.

We can have difficulties after experiencing a traumatic event. At times, we can feel numb, depressed or unable to regulate our emotions while navigating through life. For parents, it can be overwhelming for children dealing with behavioral issues and/or emotional problems. You are not alone! Here at Helping Hands, I guide my clients to unpack the core of their trauma and experience healing through the word of God. As a trained therapist, I empower my clients with tools that they can apply according to the word of God and receive healing through Jesus Christ.
My counseling modalities are Christian Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Play therapy. I work with children and adolescents with abandonment, PTSD, depression, and oppositional defiant/ behavioral issues. I work with adults (females only) with unresolved childhood trauma, anxiety, parental wounds, generational cycles, spiritual issues, narcissism abuse, emotional abandonment, relationship issues, sexual abuse and depression. I am a Master's Level Licensed Mental Health Counselor with training in Trauma Work.
