You’ve been holding it together for everyone else, but inside, you’re tired, anxious, sad, stuck in stress, old wounds, traumas, or patterns that feel hard to break. You might not have had the space to slow down, feel, or even ask for help, but something in you knows it’s time to heal. You don’t have to do it alone. I’ve spent the last 12 years helping people find their way through the hard stuff and back to themselves. My approach is person-centered, which means it’s all about you—your pace, your voice, your experience—with no judgment and no pressure. I’m here to walk alongside you.

Welcome! I'm Emmanuel Nzuzu. I want to thank you sincerely for reaching out to me. Congratulations for taking this crucial first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe, structured, and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore challenges and obstacles with concerns related to alcohol and drug addiction, stress, anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients to regain control by taking back their power from alcohol and drugs. I facilitate client transformation by assisting them to learn how to be guided by a vision of the future and not memories of the past. My clients often find it beneficial to develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

I am a psychotherapist who helps teens and adults feel better by talking through what’s been hard and teaching ways to handle big feelings. I create a safe space where you can be yourself, talk about anything, and not feel judged. Sometimes, we look at how past experiences or relationships may be affecting how you feel now. If you’ve gone through something really scary or upsetting, I use gentle ways to help you feel safer and more in control again. My job is to help you understand what’s going on inside and give you tools to feel stronger, calmer, and more like yourself. If you want, we can include your faith and beliefs as part of the conversation too.

Hi! I am a dually licensed therapist in both Florida and North Carolina. I began my education later in my adult life, and believed I had arrived late to the game. But I found that life experience paired with my own belief system, allowed me the opportunity to view life's challenges through a unique lens, and because of that I am non-judgmental and empathetic towards people who are struggling with the hurts life has dealt them. I believe in using a collaborative approach in helping my clients. I use evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Motivational Therapy, as well as Christian Counseling. I am supportive, yet direct with empathy, compassion and help you address the barriers in your life that are causing you pain and distress.

This curiosity has driven me to understand the reasons behind our behaviors, both positive and negative. Throughout my career as a therapist, I continue to learn and grow, drawing from the vast knowledge available in the field. I am deeply committed to helping my clients embrace their true selves, regardless of their personality traits—whether they are humorous, quiet and shy, hesitant to trust, or feeling frustrated with the world. My name is David Patrick, LCSW. I have 14 years of experience dealing with a wide array of topics that bring people to therapy. I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership. I see myself and my clients as friends on a journey of discovery about themselves. I do not lead, nor allow myself to be led, I believe we are equals. I listen intently and make suggestions and sometimes assign homework when appropriate. Remember, there are 168 hours in a typical week, and most people only see their therapist for one hour, leaving 167 hours outside the weekly session to practice and explore questions and see if the new results are present. I see us as equals and occasionally I will make suggestions, but ultimately this is a time of discovery for the individual and it is a privilege to walk alongside you on your journey.

Welcome! I am Carolyne Cole, a marriage and family counselor. I specialize in marriage and family therapy. I also work with young adults and seniors who are bravely taking steps toward bringing positive change into their lives. My approach to therapy is pretty eclectic. I use principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will help you shut down unhelpful distortions about yourself and provide personal coping strategies that will support problem-solving in your life. Narrative Therapy will help you identify your values and skills so that you can use them to confront current and future challenges. I also offer spiritual counseling if you are seeking to explore or solidify your spiritual beliefs. I am also a Certified Grief Therapist. I began my calling in mental health following my retirement from a 35 year career in education. I am a published author and I hold a master’s degree in American Studies, and I have earned the distinguished National Board Certification in English Education. I have taught in public and private schools, community colleges, and universities in both Florida and Eastern Europe. All these experiences have widened my understanding and make it easier to relate to a variety of people and cultures. It also makes it easy for me to connect with you. I am a native Floridian, married for 44 years to a former University of South Florida professor, so I understand what it means to live life and overcome challenges in the Sunshine State. My heart is to support you wherever you are on your journey, ease your worries about the future, and give you practical tools to heal.

Most people don’t need a diagnosis. They need someone to actually listen. And I’m here for it all. I’m here to help you figure it out by talking through the part you’ve been trying to carry alone. This is where you say the things you’ve never said out loud. You need to be understood. This is where you stop pretending it didn’t affect you. If you’re looking for someone who will just quietly nod as you pour out your heart and soul, I’m not the right therapist for you. I ask questions. I’m curious. I’m a therapist who helps people make sense of their inner world - especially during seasons of heartbreak, confusion, or change. My clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed or lost. Together we create a space for clarity, healing, and grounded movement toward wholeness. I aim to provide warmth, practicality, insight, and encouragement which is blended, at times, with a bit of humor. My style is interactive, thoughtful, and deeply collaborative. You can expect sessions to be supportive and also gently challenging – the kind which will help you grow, and not just endlessly vent (although you are welcome to unburden yourself as needed). I believe that in our darkest moments, we need someone to walk with us. There’s nothing more meaningful to me than helping people find the light they thought they’d lost. What happened to you is not the ending of your story. It is the doorway to something deeper. I won’t pretend to have all the answers. I wish I could wave a magic wand and solve it all! But I promise I will bring curiosity, steadiness, and care every time you show up. To learn more, please visit my website: www.careycenter.com

Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York and Florida. I have 30 years experience in the helping profession and 7 years as a therapist. I believe that insight without action leads to stagnation and frustration. It is valuable to talk about problems and issues but without a plan of action, clients often become discouraged. Much of my work will involve identifying a next right step in addressing challenges.

Are you feeling down and have little interest or pleasure in doing things you normally do? Do you feel tired or have little energy or so restless that it is hard to sit still and relax? Are you easily annoyed or irritable? If you answer yes to any or all of these questions, then you may be experiencing some depression and anxiety. But I have good news for you! Depression and Anxiety is treatable through talk therapy sessions and can often resolve in the short-term. Therapy does not have to be a long-term process and often you can achieve the goals you set for yourself within a matter of months.

Hey, I am Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida and I'm excited to see how my experience can help you. Family history and personal growth encouraged me to become a counselor and help others obtain their goals through counseling as well. My goal is not just to help you get to where you want to be, but open your eyes and then empower you to places you thought you'd never be. I have a huge heart for restoration and transformation. Counseling is one of the greatest privileges that I have and I am honored to do so with you. Thank you!

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Florida rather than a city like Tampa?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
