New to Grow
As an LMHC specialized in trauma, I work with both children and adults who are navigating anxiety, emotional pain, difficult life experiences, and relationship challenges. I believe that healing begins when people feel truly heard, understood, and supported. My approach to therapy is compassionate, grounded and collaborative. I have over 14 years experience working with clients that have experienced PTSD, including first responders, military families and individuals that have had an abuse experience. I am a mother, practicing Catholic, runner and philanthropist. I believe that every individual has the capacity to heal and grow. I look forward to collaborating with you and helping you on your journey.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, grounded and collaborative. We will work together to develop treatment plans in order to facilitate healing and improve functioning. I create a safe space where clients can explore their experiences, gain insight into patterns that may be holding them back, and develop the tools needed to move forward with confidence and resilience.
For ten years I worked in the non-profit world and also have experience in various settings including schools, psychiatric in patient programs, jail and private practice. I have a unique ability to understand people from various walks of life who are all in search of support and healing. I believe in person centered therapy and using mindfulness techniques to help clients improve their relationship with themselves and others. My goal is to help people heal and understand their value and pain in unique ways.
Clients that have experienced trauma and are processing that experience. Also clients that have been exposed to complex compounded trauma, and first responders that have dedicated their life to serving others. Often after trauma a person can feel overwhelmed and stuck. My expertise is in helping individuals whether it be an adult or a child navigate the changes and emotions that come along with having a human experience.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
This form of therapy helps individuals become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and reactions without immediately judging or reacting to them. It is helpful in reducing stress, depression, anxiety and improve emotional regulation and overall psychological well-being.
Christian Counseling
For clients that would like to have faith based counseling I find that it is helpful as a clinician to be able to integrate their spiritual beliefs and values into the therapeutic process. It can be helpful to find meaning during suffering and a faith based approach can facilitate that perspective.
