Hello my name is Hillary, and I am a licensed professional counselor. I strive to create a therapeutic alliance that allows you to feel comfortable in expressing issues regarding life stressors and mental health concerns and involve, the mind, body, and soul in the journey of healing. I believe that with the use of effective coping tools, you will be able to conquer the life obstacles that you’re faced with. I am here to walk with you and guide you in overcoming the many obstacles that hinder you from achieving your fullest potential in life. When you are ready to take the next steps to increase your well-being, it will be my pleasure to join and support you in this process of discovery and achieving happiness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, I will share further details about your unique therapy journey, then I will explore the specific challenges that you are encountering. This will guide me in better understanding you, and creating goals that we can work through and eventually accomplish with time in our follow-up sessions.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize an eclectic approach including CBT, DBT, and Solution Focused therapies and rely on the strengths perspective too.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been trained in several areas, including individual and family therapy, group counseling, crisis intervention, addiction recovery, and clinical assessing and diagnosing. I have experience in a variety of areas including stress management, therapeutic exercise, relapse prevention, anger management, behavioral issues, family/parenting issues, adult mental health issues (i.e. depression, and anxiety), play therapy, suicide ideation, low self-esteem, and child mental health issues (i.e. emotional instability, and attention deficiencies). A therapeutic approach that I utilize and continue to grow in is Dialectical Behavioral therapy as it focuses on interpersonal relationships, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation. I also utilize a CBT approach by guiding clients with understanding the connection between our thoughts affect our feelings, and actions and how we respond to stressful life events.
