I provide individual and couples therapy for adults and children who struggle with various issues relating to anxiety, mood, substance use/addiction, self-esteem, self-worth, and interpersonal relationships. I help people work through life's challenges while equipping them with tools for future growth. The best decision a person can make is to invest in their own personal development. Therapy is a great way to get on the path of becoming the best version of YOU.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is my time to hear from you and gain an understanding of your needs. During our first session we will begin establishing a therapeutic relationship. I believe that if you feel safe enough to be open and honest during our sessions, we will have the best environment for really good therapy. There is power in hearing and being heard (understood).

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Throughout the years I have gained a heightened sense of empathy and respect that helps me connect with people. In therapy, clients feel free to open up and be understood. Through gained insight, I am able to assess client needs and initiate appropriate interventions that lead to breakthroughs.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with a range of clients from kids, teens, adults, and older adults. They are typically seeking help for various challenges ranging from basic coping issues to more serious mental health issues. This may include relationship (single, couples, or family), mental/emotional, or addiction. As a result of therapy, clients gain skill and understanding to meet challenges now and in the future.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Sometimes just gaining a new perspective on things can make a world of difference. Through a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, we can get to the root of things and find transformative truths that lead to positive breakthroughs. As a psychotherapist, I have found success treating clients with a range of life issues relating to relationship, work, anxiety, depression, substance use disorder, and various mental health challenges. Together, we can identify roadblocks and find solutions to thinking patterns (cognitive distortions) and related emotions and behaviors. Clients are given tools that continue past therapy.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

It is my belief that the therapeutic relationship (the relationship between the therapist and client) is the most powerful element in therapy. When a client is able to tell their story and be heard and understood by another person (therapist), healing begins to take place. To me, it is an honor to enter into a safe, welcoming relationship that allows a person to be authentic, transparent, and accepted. Therapy should be an optimum environment where growth happens.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Treatment (SFBT) is focused on finding solutions to problems in the present and exploring hope for the future. It is common for people to be hindered by or stuck in past. As a therapist, I help clients gain skills to get unstuck and gain momentum toward positive change.

Couples Counseling

Whether it be premarital counseling or working through relationship issues, I can help couples gain insight and develop skills necessary for a healthy relationship typically using the Gottman Method. Couples are able to build strong connections through effective communication, increased intimacy and respect while removing barriers.

Christian Counseling

I believe in the Bible and its application to life. Throughout the years, I have cultivated my own relationship with God and continue to grow spiritually. As a result of a desire to minister to the body of Christ, I pursued a Christian education in psychology because I felt there was a need for better counseling to the church.
