Hello! I’m Sandra V. Chávez, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Psychological Assistant with the California Board of Psychology. I’m passionate about helping individuals grow both personally and emotionally through client-centered, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapies.
As a first-generation Latina, I learned ambition, tenacity, and determination from my parents. My educational journey includes dual bachelor’s degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences and Psychology, as well as a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. I’m currently on the path to becoming a licensed psychologist. Before entering the mental health field, I worked as a nurse and briefly attended medical school in Southern California. That experience deepened my interest in understanding the brain, human development, and the impact of environmental factors on behavior.
I specialize in supporting clients through mood disorders, life transitions, and self-empowerment challenges. My strengths lie in helping individuals develop emotional intelligence, identify, and understand their emotions. I believe therapy should be tailored to each person’s unique needs, which is why I use an integrative, eclectic approach that draws from evidence-based methods and holistic practices, including mindfulness and positive psychology.
I also enjoy working with individuals who incorporate their faith into their mental health journey. For those open to incorporating their faith as a tool for healing, I create a safe, welcoming space where spirituality and therapy work hand in hand.
Above all, I value building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. My goal is to offer a non-judgmental environment where your thoughts and emotions are respected and where real progress can be made. Together, we’ll explore strategies, assignments, and tools that help you overcome life’s hurdles and achieve lasting personal growth and fulfillment.
Let’s begin this journey together!
I’m a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 15 years of experience in behavioral health. I work with adults and adolescents navigating trauma, grief, ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship and family patterns, life transitions, codependency, identity, and spirituality.
My approach is warm, interactive, integrative, and trauma-informed. I draw from EMDR, parts-oriented work, CBT, motivational interviewing, attachment and relational therapy, mindfulness, and somatic practices, tailoring treatment to each person rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
My background in addiction treatment deepened my understanding of trauma, coping, and the protective strategies people develop to survive difficult experiences. I am also trained in yoga and have experience with meditation, breathwork, tai chi, and qi gong. When these practices fit a client’s needs and interests, they can become part of our work together.
**Note: If you'd like to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit, feel free to contact or text me through my website: www.kristinchanmft.com. I look forward to hearing your story and working with you!

Hi, I'm Ms. Noemi and I am a bilingual (English & Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from Southern California. I've been in practice since 2003. At this time, I have a small private practice. I am currently serving children, teens, and adults. I specialize in Early Intervention, Children, and Family therapy. I provide solution-focused individual counseling to adults dealing with life changes, transitions, anxiety, and boundary challenges.
I graduated from Cal State University Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services in 2003. In 2005, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California (USC). Then in 2017, I earned my PPSC with an emphasis on Child Welfare and Attendance from Cal State Long Beach (CSULB).
My clinical experience was in county mental health. I specialized in the treatment of children and their families. I provided individual, group, and parenting services to high-risk communities. I used a combination of talk therapy and evidence-based treatment models to best address their mental health issues, all while collaborating with adjunct programs.
I provided Mental Health Related Services (MHRS) to students receiving counseling as part of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

My love and passion is to help individuals strengthening their relationships, healing, and reaching their mental health goals.
Life is hard, challenging, and sometimes just overwhelming. I would love to be a tool that you can use to help you throughout your mental health journey.
NOTE: Current openings: Wed- Fridays 10:00am-3 pm.
My name is Thomas Barhorst, and I started counseling in 2004. In addition to having a small private practice shortly after I received my Missouri license in 2007; I have worked as a K-12 school counselor, in substance use treatment, in a residential treatment setting, in a community mental health agency, helping individuals with disabilities transition into the workforce, and helping graduate students manage stress in their professional programs (i.e. medical school, dental school, etc.). Recently, I have begun providing telehealth therapy after obtaining licensure in Arizona and California.
Outside of work, spending time with family and friends is important to me. I also enjoy stories, laughing, listening to stand-up comedy, cooking, playing sports like wallyball and ultimate frisbee on a non-competitive level, watching film noir and psychological thrillers, recently had the opportunity to take my car to a racetrack, and have played bass guitar in a rock band.
My preference is speaking in terms that are comfortable for everyone including myself. I can be direct with a sprinkling of humor and an abundance of empathy. Attachment injuries in childhood lead to adult attachment styles, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, trauma and all of their close friends. Working with these issues is my passion. I love working with children and foster children.
Second career leads itself to years of life experience and knowledge. The relationship and trust is what is important to me for your (and my) journey. I learn from you and your experiences and welcome all thoughts and ideas.

My goal in my counseling is to help my clients live deeply fulfilling lives. I help clients increase their psychological flexibility through various tools and approaches including evidence-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to change their thought patterns. I use experiential approaches including Hypnotherapy to work with subconscious minds and remove blocks that are deep in their psyche. I also provide mindfulness training, which is one of the key techniques for the clients to be more present and accepting in their lives, rather than react reflexively.
Each individual's struggles are complex and tied to many factors including their social environment, their physical health, the phases of their lives, skills they already possess, etc. In other words, change can happen in a variety of ways and that's what counseling can help with, pointing out the direction and even the next steps that can help the client to get to their goals and intentions.
I work with clients experiencing sleep disorders, chronic pain, anxiety, mood issues, ADHD, career counseling, and those who simply need a tune-up.
Greetings! I have relished working in this field for over 30 years and my practice has only gotten better over time--as I grow. Starting off my career in the field of Addiction Medicine assisting with patients embracing their own recovery over time. Through that lens my areas of expertise expanded: finding many people had other addictive/compulsive behaviors, mental health issues, childhood trauma, (including the impact of racism, sexism and homophobia). My patients have found psychoeducation incredibly useful.
There is no question in my mind regarding the power of therapy can be an extraordinary avenue for healing, self-identity development and living more intentionally versus living by default. Together we will carve out the style that works for you. Many of the people I work with work a recovery program in AA (Alcholics Anonymous/NA etc.), ACA (Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families), Al Anon--which have accelerated their healing and assisted immeasurably in our work together.
Spirituality can be a wellspring of hope and vitality in our work together. Learning to treat oneself with gentleness, humor love and respect is the practice I hope to instill within my people over time. I learned for myself when starting my journey that all I needed to be was honest, openminded and willing (HOW) and it's working!
I am a licensed clinical social worker who has clinical experience in medical social work, home health, geriatrics, and end of life care. I am looking forward to building my clinical practice with Grow. I am trained in CBT techniques and use a strengths and system based approach to my work. Whether you’re working to improve a relationship, make a difficult decision, break unhealthy patterns, or face a personal challenge, you deserve support — and change is possible. I help clients identify patterns in their struggles and successes, so they can understand themselves more fully and move forward with greater clarity and strength.
My therapeutic approach draws from evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, attachment theory, psychodynamic principles, and strength-based practices. Together, we’ll focus on building self-compassion while working through the areas that feel stuck or painful.
In session, I am an active and engaged therapist. I bring warmth and compassion, and I’m also direct when needed — offering honest feedback in the spirit of growth and support. We will co-create a space where you feel safe, respected, and free of judgment — a space to explore, reflect, and begin to ease emotional pain.
In addition to English, I speak and write fluently in Farsi. I work exclusively with individual adults.

I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) based in California that believes mental health is an important aspect to maintaining balance in life. I've been practicing for 6 years with extensive experience working with adults struggling with anxiety and depression. I also help young adults with life transitions such as starting college and beginning careers. I can help adults develop emotional intelligence, improve communication skills, and build self-esteem.
Hi there and great job on taking that first step in considering if therapy is right for you. I invite you to come with me on a journey of your own choosing where we will walk together in darkness to find the light you’ve been seeking. Whether it’s life’s little annoying stressors or more complex issues, as a trauma survivor myself, I know firsthand what this is like and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Whether you choose me or another therapist, make the choice to just give it a try. Sometimes all you need is another person to hold the light while you do the work you need to heal.
Hi, I’m Johanna!
I’m a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), nationally certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I provide individual therapy for adults across California with support that is genuine, collaborative, and grounded in cultural awareness.
As a Latina therapist, I’m especially passionate about supporting first-generation and BIPOC individuals navigating anxiety, intergenerational trauma, and life transitions. My approach is rooted in meaningful, real conversation, creating a space where you can reflect, heal, and grow.
I primarily work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, or relationship challenges. My therapeutic style integrates mindfulness, CBT, and person-centered approaches, helping clients deepen self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience, and build more fulfilling connections. I believe meaningful change begins when you feel truly seen, understood, and supported on your path to healing.
My ideal client is someone who needs help reaching their highest potential and decrease emotional suffering. They should be ready and willing to begin receiving guidance on how to reach their peak. I believe in self-determination and that individuals can find solutions with the right support.
I offer a person centered approach that relies on the client's self-determination. I am experienced working those with dual diagnosis, mood disorders, and anxiety compassionately to help them manage symptoms.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have more questions. I am always willing to answer questions to make sure my services are a good fit.
Hello, I am an older adult who came to this career after a long career in the non-profit sector. Over the years, I have worked with a wide variety of clients with a wide variety of issues and circumstances. The bulk of my previous experience in the nonprofit world was in substance use disorder treatment programs. My training as a therapist includes specialized training for a wide variety of disorders. I am known for being empathic, honest and insightful and a relentless cheerleader for my clients. I am very interactive and I will offer liberal doses of feedback and suggestions. I will provide psycho-education and will look to you for feedback about how you are feeling about the therapy. We will address the therapy as a team. My ideal client is someone motivated to improve their life. I work with clients who can benefit from 1 month to 1 year of therapy.
Hello. I am a licensed social worker in California. I began practicing in the mental health/behavioral health field in 2011. I originally was licensed in Maryland in 2015 but then returned to California in 2016. Since starting in the field, I have worked with individuals ranging in age from 4 years old to 75 years old; most experience working with individuals between the ages of 10 and 35. I have experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, depression, anxiety, parenting problems, and relationship issues. I am an ally of the LGBTQI community and can provide a safe, telehealth space for them.
Unfortunately, at this time, I cannot accommodate individuals seeking letters for emotional support animals or those mandated by the court or legal system for therapy.
With that said, my goal in being a counselor, is to assist my clients in meeting their identified treatment needs. I am flexible and willing to do whatever I need to do to assist you and help you in any way that I can.
If when viewing my profile, you feel as though I am a good fit, but my schedule does not meet your scheduling needs, please feel free to send me a message as I may be able to fit you in at a different time. I work evenings and weekends.
I believe in honoring each individual as the expert of their own life, meeting them without judgment or preconceptions. Counseling, for me, is not about labeling problems but about discovering solutions and effective coping strategies. I work with individuals of all ages, including children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families, who are facing a wide range of challenges, with a particular passion for geriatric mental health.
Embarking on therapy is a courageous and potentially life-changing decision, and I am dedicated to supporting you every step of the way. I am deeply committed to helping others realize their full potential. My areas of expertise include providing support for grief, depression, life stressors, divorce, blended families, and individuals and families involved with state agencies.
I'm Sheldon like the TV show! (Big Bang Theory). I help analytical high-achieving adults who feel stuck in patterns of anxiety and depression untangle their inner world and reconnect with their deeper self-using insight-driven therapy, dream exploration, and a creative lens that helps them uncover what's been buried beneath the surface.
Do you often say, "I'm successful on the outside but exhausted and anxious inside," "overthinking everything, but still feeling stuck," or being in a "constant sense of restlessness or dissatisfaction," or being a person who "struggles to access or name emotions clearly." I help clients have greater awareness and emotional clarity and begin to feel grounded, self-trusting and more internally connected. I hope to reduce anxiety and depression symptoms through deeper insight and ability to recognize and break unconscious patterns. I help clients discover meaning through creative exploration, and dream work. I want clients to increase their confidence in navigating relationships and decisions and moving from analysis paralysis to self-acceptance and expression.
My areas of expertise are in Depression, Anxiety, Chronic Mental Illness, Risk Assessment, Trauma, PTSD and Substance Abuse Disorders.
It takes courage to accept and seek help and set out on your recovery journey. My focus in our work will be on meeting you where you are at and in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where we can collaborate and explore what can be helpful in addressing your needs, wants, and barriers to getting them met.
Together, we will challenge ourselves to show up authentically in relationship so we can examine the areas of your life that you would like support in. These areas can often include examining how systemic and cultural factors influence our perception of ourselves, others, and the world.
My hope in our work together is that you'll come away with a renewed sense of self and identity that not only addresses the hardships and challenges you have endured, but also empowers you to affirm your sense of agency, and make your mark on the world.
Hi, my name is Kathy. I am licensed in California as a marriage and family therapist. I have been practicing for eight years. I work with adults that struggle with depression and anxiety. I have extensive experience working with individuals that have problems with substance use. I believe that you are the expert in your life. My role is to help you recognize your strengths and learn how to build on those strengths to help you become the best version of yourself.
I get satisfaction from being a voice of reasoning for others through my genuineness. I consider this a life purpose for me. I am driven by a deep desire to make a positive difference in the lives of those struggling with their mental well-being. I believe in providing a safe space with a non-judgmental stance while supporting the patient through his or her emotional well-being and encouraging autonomy.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PsyD) with extensive experience working in residential treatment, sober living, and private practice settings since 2010. My career began as an intern in an eating disorder residential program, later expanding into adolescent dual-diagnosis treatment. Alongside completing my doctorate in clinical psychology, I launched my private practice, where I continue to work with clients through Telehealth.
I am passionate about helping people reach their full potential by embracing their strengths while learning to accept their vulnerabilities. My clients inspire me every day, and seeing their success stories fuels my dedication to this work.
I am an LCSW (License Clinical Social Worker) with over 19 years of experience in the field of mental health and I have been licensed since 2010. I have also worked at the University of Michigan counseling center with undergraduate and graduate students. I have extensive experience in relationship/communication issues, trauma work, infertility and miscarriage counseling, parenting, grief work, life transitions, depression and anxiety. I am supportive, understanding, validating, open-minded, flexible, non-judgemental, kind, empowering, compassionate, hopeful, encouraging, (sometimes) humorous, and LGBTQ+ affirming. I look to you as the expert of your situation and will collaborate with you in developing goals that work so that you can overcome roadblocks and achieve better mental health! I have a deep devotion to the field of mental health, and due to my own life-story decided to become a therapist at a very young age. I hope to be able to help you break-through any blockages and achieve your life's goals.
I have been a licensed therapist for over 20 years. Currently licensed in California and Nevada. I understand that reaching out and starting the therapy process can be a little overwhelming in and of itself, so I strive to set a pace that is comfortable for my client. If you are ready to dive into the deep end, we will go there. If you need some time to ease into the hard work of therapy, we will go at a pace that feels comfortable. I see myself as a guide in the process of therapy and, at times, more of a teacher, sharing strategies and information. My goal as a therapist is to help you develop the resources and strategies to feel confident in your ability to handle life challenges. Sometimes that involves really getting in touch with the way you think and what you believe, or exploring how you are talking to yourself, or it might involve healing childhood wounds. Since each client is unique I use a variety of therapeutic techniques, I incorporate evidenced based strategies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and sometimes complimentary therapies such as Guided Imagery. I tend to be eclectic in my approach because each person is an individual, and there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to resolving life issues.

I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion. I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy while incorporating natural and holistic styles in treatment. I also believe in matching the treatment style to the person and not the person to the treatment style.

Hi there, I am Joanna
Have you ever gone to therapy and found it hard to open up because the sessions appear rigid and impersonal, and maybe you felt judged? In my practice is my goal to lead sessions in a non-judgmental way, with the belief that clients are the experts in their own lives. I like to describe my relationship with clients as a relationship among equals. My role in the session is to help you process some of the challenges you are experiencing and offer skills that can help create the change you want to see in your life. My theoretical orientation is dialectical behavioral therapy and I try to hold the balance between acceptance and change, this means accepting that although things might be difficult at this moment we can learn new behaviors so life can be improved. My goal is to help clients increase their overall satisfaction in life and relationships. I am also trained in trauma work to help clients process traumatic experiences.

If you are a resident in the states of California or Colorado, and are interested in finding out more about or scheduling mental health or addictions or substance abuse treatment services, Shauna accepts private insurances and self-pay clients. The first session is the clinical intake assessment. Shauna schedules directly in her practice, through direct messaging communications only (text message, email, during appointments scheduling next appointments), and not through the Grow Therapy or Google Calendar despite the calendar showing availability.
