Many people come to therapy feeling exhausted—not because they're weak, but because they've spent years taking care of everyone else while losing touch with themselves. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, family stress, or repeating the same painful patterns, therapy can help you understand not only what is happening, but why it keeps happening. With more than 20 years of experience, I help adults gain clarity, recognize the patterns influencing their lives, and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. I believe insight is important, but lasting change happens when insight is paired with meaningful action. Together, we'll explore your experiences with curiosity rather than judgment, identify what's keeping you stuck, and develop skills that help you move forward with greater confidence, stronger boundaries, and relationships that feel more authentic and fulfilling.
During our first session, we’ll take time to talk about what brings you to therapy and answer any questions you may have about the process. We’ll explore your background, including family dynamics and any relevant medical or personal history, and discuss what you hope to gain from counseling. This first meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding the challenges you’re facing and explore how therapy can best support you.
Clients often tell me they leave sessions with a clearer understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the reasons they respond the way they do. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I look at the bigger picture—your relationships, family history, cultural experiences, values, and life transitions—to understand how they influence the challenges you're facing today. I often use relatable examples and real-life analogies to make complex emotional patterns easier to recognize and understand. My hope is that you'll leave each session not only feeling supported, but also with greater clarity, practical tools, and deeper confidence in your ability to move forward.
Many of the clients I work with are Asian adults, adult children of immigrant parents, and individuals who have spent years taking care of others and feeling stuck in patterns they don't fully understand. They may struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-criticism, or difficulty setting boundaries. Others find themselves repeatedly entering unhealthy relationships, avoiding conflict, or feeling responsible for everyone else's happiness. Some carry a deep sense of guilt whenever they prioritize their own needs. These patterns rarely develop without reason.

What you think affects how you feel, and how you feel affects what you do. Imagine your mind is wearing a pair of glasses. If the lenses are smudged, everything looks worse than it really is. CBT doesn't pretend the world is perfect—it helps clean the lenses so you can see situations more clearly and respond in ways that are more helpful. The overall goal of CBT is to help you - learn practical skills to recognize unhelpful thinking patterns, manage difficult emotions, and choose behaviors that support your well-being.
Emotionally Focused Therapy helps people recognize the emotional needs beneath conflict, break unhealthy interaction patterns, and build stronger, more secure relationships through honest, vulnerable communication.

Connection isn't good. A Lot of technical issues on the Provider side. I am very impatient and maybe this is the Universe telling me this Provider is not a right fit for me.

I had a positive experience with my therapist. She is friendly and warm, which made it easy for me to feel comfortable opening up. I especially appreciate how she focuses on the present—it helps me stay grounded. The time went by so quickly that one hour didn’t feel like enough, which says a lot about how helpful and engaging the 1st session was. I’m looking forward to seeing her again next week.
