My name is Jason Stewart, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) with a genuine passion for helping others. With nine years of experience in the field, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including couples, families, individuals, and the LGBTQ+ community. Throughout my career, I have found that connecting with my clients on a deep and authentic level is at the core of effective therapy. I bring empathy, warmth, and curiosity into every session, creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and life's challenges. Whether you are struggling with relationship issues, navigating complex family dynamics, facing personal obstacles, or seeking to understand and embrace your own identity, I am here to walk alongside you on your unique journey.

Within our sessions, I aim to organically find those moments where humor can be infused, allowing us to approach challenges with a sense of levity and creativity.

In addition to my professional approach, I believe in the power of humor as a therapeutic tool. Laughter can bring lightness to difficult situations and foster resilience. By combining my years of experience, genuine empathy, warmth, curiosity, and a touch of humor, I strive to create a therapeutic experience that is both enriching and transformative. If you are seeking a therapist who values your unique experiences, understands the intricacies of diverse populations, and can provide a safe space for exploration and growth, I invite you to connect with me. Together, we can embark on a path of healing and create a life filled with fulfillment and well-being.

First session

In our first session I will take a few minutes to explain who I am and how I work. I will answer any questions you have regarding expectations, scheduling, or myself. The rest of the session will be a conversation about what brings you to therapy at this time, what your goals are, and any information you would like to share with me.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist lies in my ability to deeply connect with my clients through empathy, curiosity, and humor. I genuinely care about your well-being and strive to create a safe and nurturing space where you can openly share your thoughts, emotions, and challenges. Through empathy, I can understand and validate your experiences, allowing us to work together in a compassionate and non-judgmental environment. My curiosity drives me to explore your unique story, asking thoughtful questions and actively listening to gain a deeper understanding of your journey. This curiosity not only helps me grasp the nuances of your challenges but also uncovers insights and perspectives that can facilitate meaningful change. I am passionate about discovering what truly resonates with you, so we can uncover the core of your struggles and develop personalized strategies for growth and healing. Moreover, I firmly believe in the power of humor to create moments of insight and positive change. Laughter has an incredible ability to lighten the mood, foster connection, and provide new perspectives. Within our sessions, I aim to organically find those moments where humor can be infused, allowing us to approach challenges with a sense of levity and creativity. Together, we can discover the transformative potential of laughter and use it as a catalyst for growth on your therapeutic journey.

Ideal clients

High functioning, low acuity, dealing with various types of anxiety, depression, grief and adjustment disorders. I also specialize in relationship issues, including communication, conflict, and intimacy concerns.

Treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Through ACT I help clients change their relationship with their internal experiences so they are able to create more valued action regardless of what thoughts and feelings they are dealing with. By increasing psychological flexibility, clients are able to break out of existing patterns that are no longer helping them and create new behaviors that move them towards who they want to be and the life they want to live.

Jason is everything you would want in a therapist. He helps me stay present and gives me tasks that I can work on every session. I have a ton of trauma and survivor guilt being a 3x cancer survivor only in mid 40s. I never talked to anyone or didnt mess with anyone to continue to talk with. Jason is extremely intelligent and helps me stay in the moment since I dont know how much time I have left. He is so easy to communicate with as each session just comes off as an actual conversation. A++++

Jason Stewart has been an incredible therapist. He's attentive and non-judgmental — I always feel comfortable being honest with him, and he responds with kindness and comfort. What sets him apart is he doesn't just let me vent and leave it there — he's insightful and always gives me concrete things to work on between sessions, which has made a real difference. Highly recommend him if you want a therapist who's compassionate and genuinely helpful in moving things forward.

Jason is open minded, welcoming, and warm. He works with you to meet you where you are at, then make progress in a better direction. I don't feel judged by Jason when disclosing sensitive things about my mental health.
