Hi there, I'm Aimee! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I most commonly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as my therapeutic approach. I work hard to help people pinpoint the changes they want to see in their life and assist with navigating the path toward a values driven and meaningful life. Many of us like to avoid uncomfortable feelings. I like to help people get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable.
In the first session, I'll review basic policies, gather information to assess what we will be working on, and allow you to get a feel for whether we are a good fit. I'll review the stages of therapy and what to expect from future sessions as well as my style of therapy and how we will approach your concerns.
My experience in the mental health field has really shaped my ability to meet my clients with a unique understanding of what they are going through. I am very down to earth, straightforward and honest. My goal is for you to get the BEST mental health care possible.
I am experienced in treating PTSD, other trauma and stressor-related disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, self-harm, dissociative disorders, and paraphilic disorders.

With this modality I assist clients with developing psychological flexibility and learning intentional practice of experiencing the full range of emotions. Clients learn to acknowledge emotions as they are while moving toward a values driven life.
EMDR
Bilateral stimulation helps individuals have the opportunity to recognize feelings associated with traumatic events and eventually let go of cyclical patterns of thinking. Sometimes EMDR is preferred over regular talk therapy for its ability to directly address memories and emotions associated with trauma without needing to speak about the trauma in-depth.
