I believe we're endlessly creative and resourceful as human beings — we have to be, if we're going to keep showing up in a world that includes real suffering. Over the years, we all find ways to cope. Some are healthy and sustaining. Others work for a while, until they don't — because life stretches us past our limits, or because some part of us simply isn't willing to keep silencing our own voice, harming ourselves, or staying in relationships and patterns that no longer serve us.
That's often where the real work begins: building a deeper relationship with yourself — one rooted in awareness, trust, and self-respect, rather than the inner critic that so many of us carry.
I'm Gwendolyn, and my work centers on helping people reconnect with themselves and understand their own inner world (and the people in it). I often work with clients navigating grief, trauma, life transitions, and the impact of addiction — whether their own or that of someone close to them.
Together, we'll work on quieting the inner critic, learning to trust yourself again, and supporting your nervous system so that calm feels more accessible. I also believe healing doesn't only happen through talk — creativity, nature connection, self-expression, and spiritual practices are often just as vital to the process, and I welcome them into our work together.
If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break, I can help. You might notice your mind is always “on,” your body feels tense, and you can’t shut off the worry. You may be navigating partner conflict, parenting stress, or growing distance within your family and aren’t sure how to repair it.
I also work with people moving through major life transitions, breakups, grief, new parenthood, career changes, who feel unsteady, lost or unsure of who they are in the middle of it all.
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience, I help individuals understand what’s fueling their stress, anxiety, and disconnection, and develop the tools to feel grounded, supported, and more in control of their lives again.
I have lived the majority of my life in the Bay Area where I completed my undergraduate work at Santa Clara University and obtained my doctorate degree at Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. I am also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with extensive experience utilizing behavioral approaches in treatment.
I specialized in working with children, adolescents and families, I've also worked with adults and have provided services to an integrated healthcare system for decades. I have specific interest in empowering families, identity development, pediatric feeding issues, autism care, mood disorders and healing from trauma.
I have had the honor to work with a variety of populations, which has strengthened my commitment in providing compassionate, collaborative and patient centered care to the diverse individuals that I have had the privilege to work with.

My professional background includes experience in psychiatric hospitalization settings, substance use treatment programs, and private practice. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of mental health needs across different levels of care and life stages.
In my work, I aim to provide a supportive and collaborative space where clients can explore challenges, build coping skills, and work toward meaningful change in their lives and relationships. I support people in managing symptoms, building coping skills, and improving emotional and relational functioning. Over time, I work to help clients feel more grounded, confident, and connected to themselves and others, while also moving toward a more meaningful and balanced life.

With over 15 years of experience in the field of psychology and mental health, my journey has led me through diverse and challenging settings, ultimately shaping me into the therapist I am today. My career began in inpatient treatment facilities, where I gained invaluable insights into the complex interplay of substance abuse and mental health disorders. Witnessing the resilience and strength of those facing such challenges inspired me to delve deeper into the realm of psychology and trauma therapy.
Do you feel held back by experiences you can't seem to move on from? Do you know your goals, but struggle to find the path to get there? Are you looking for a space to better understand yourself, your past, and the person you want to be in the future?
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, and substance use. I am here to help you dive into understanding not only how to grow in the present, but also what pieces have come together to create the person you are today. We don't exist in a vacuum, therefore I take a holistic approach that works with the confluence of mental, social, and cultural factors surrounding each individual.
One of the most difficult parts of therapy is choosing to begin. Congratulations for making it this far. I would be overjoyed to walk alongside you as you continue on this journey of growth and self-love.
I've been a therapist for about eight years with a keen eye for helping others find deeper meaning through their hardships, a calming presence capable of modeling self-regulation, and a reliable ear for those that need to unload their perceived stress across different life chapters. I also offer a modern, diverse openness for cultural understanding as I am a male Latino fluent in Spanish, have Asian ethnicity, and am first-generation American. I can also empathize with perceived struggles as I grew up with low SES, was greatly affected by a custody battle into my teenage years, and became the primary healthcare agent for my father-figure until his passing from cancer during my early twenties. In more recent years, I learned the differences in transitioning from the role of a stepfather to becoming a father of a newborn. Understanding one's own pain from their story is key to learning the balancing act of validating and/or differentiating how to help others process their felt pain. I offer my therapeutic services as your existential teammate who will metaphorically walk by your side along your therapeutic journey.
