Hello. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 20 years in the Los Angeles, California area. I have worked with clients in many capacities including individual, group, and family therapy. The pandemic opened up the world of therapy to telehealth and I believe that is what has enabled so many more people than before to ask for help. My goal is to build a relationship with you so we can begin to heal what you are dealing with currently and then make connections with the past. The goal is to recognize patterns of behavior and see where change needs to occur.
You can expect an authentic person who genuinely wants to hear what is happening in your life. I will guide you with ease, questions, and even some humor. We will talk and start where you feel comfortable. By the end of the hour, we will decide what is best for you moving forward with you being in control of what happens next.
With my ability to build relationships, I can help you feel comfortable as well as confident you can make a change. My goal is that together we take a journey and help you become the best version of yourself. My years of experience as a therapist and a social worker have taught me a balance of humility and confidence that I can help you where you are in your life.
If I had to identify one superpower I have it would be building relationships and making clients feel at ease. Therapy is about your willingness to trust me and open up about issues you may have never shared with anyone. The dream client is anyone who wants to make change and is open to looking at who they are through a different lens than the one they normally use.
CBT is a way you learn to take control of our thoughts feelings and actions. You can harness this by learning about reframing, self-talk, and changing the tapes in our brains. By understanding these methods we can work together to help you take more control over behaviors that no longer serve you.
One size does not fit all. The work we do can be multi-modalities in one session This could include talking and mediation, CBT and Family Systems work as well as Vision boards and inner child work.
Each culture views therapy in different ways. In many families, talking to others about your problems, taking medication, and doing therapy are uncommon or frowned upon. I believe the best way to ensure my cultural sensitivity for you is by asking questions and continuing learning. As we build a relationship, we will explore how culture has impacted your understanding of mental health as well as your feelings about getting help.
