Hi! My name is Rhonda, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor here in Easley, South Carolina. I am so glad you found your way here on your journey to find a therapist that is right for you. Maybe life is just a little more difficult right now and you need some extra support. Maybe you've been dealing with a diagnosis most of your life, and finally want some answers, coping skills, and ways to better manage your symptoms. Whatever it may be, I would love to hear from you and find out if we are a good match!
In our first session together, we will spend time getting to know each other and finding out where you would like to start in the counseling process.
I have experience working with a wide range of people and adapt my approach to where you are on your journey to finding answers and growing into the person you want to become. My experiences are broad, and I work with many individuals facing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and more. I am open to all people and provide a safe and welcoming space.
I enjoy working with motivated individuals who are looking to navigate the world around them and learn how to manage life snags, mental health issues, or become better communicators.
Listening and asking helpful questions to allow my clients to feel heard and seen through out the counseling process.
I work with client to help them navigate the various stages and emotions of grief following a loss. Counseling can help individuals avoid some of the more acute manifestations of grief and process their emotions in a healthy manner. We will work through the cycle of grief using talk therapy, bibliotherapy, and other avenues to help clients walk through their grief journey.
Teaching and discussing the advantages of mindfulness and understanding its helpfulness in navigating mental health symptoms such as anxiety and depression. This method helps participants learn how to recognize their sense of being and see themselves as separate from their thoughts and moods. This disconnect can allow people to become liberated from thought patterns in which the same negative messages may be replayed over and over. After developing an awareness of the separation between thoughts, emotions, and the self, people in treatment may find that while the self and the emotions may exist simultaneously, they do not have to exist within the same dimension. This insight can contribute to healing by helping individuals learn to interject positive thoughts into negative moods to disarm those negative moods.
In collaboration with my clients, we develop solutions by first generating a detailed description of how the client’s life will be different when the problem is gone or their situation improved to a degree satisfactory to the client. We will carefully search through your life experience and behavioral repertoire to discover the necessary resources needed to co-construct a practical and sustainable solution that you can readily implement. Typically this process involves identifying and exploring previous “exceptions,” e.g. times when you haves successfully coped with or addressed previous difficulties and challenges. In an inherently respectful and practical interview process, we will consistently collaborate in identifying goals reflective of your best hopes and developing satisfying solutions.
This is used to provide the clients knowledge about various facets of the illness and its treatment so that we can work together for a better overall outcome.
