Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker in Illinois. I received my MSW from the University of Southern California and have been practicing for 8 years. I enjoy working with adults of all ages and have expertise in women's issues, anger management, depression, anxiety, trauma treatment, mood, and personality disorders. Through my open-mindedness, I actively listen and empathize with my client's perspective, striving to understand their subjective reality. I embrace alternative viewpoints, questioning assumptions, and exploring different possibilities. I remain flexible and adaptable, adjusting my therapeutic interventions to meet the changing needs and preferences of my client. By embracing an open-minded approach, I encourage my clients to explore new insights, challenge ingrained patterns, and discover their own unique solutions. This approach facilitates their personal growth, self-discovery, and the development of a deeper understanding and acceptance of themselves. Ultimately, my open-minded approach in psychotherapy cultivates a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship, where both my clients and I are active participants in the therapeutic process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will begin with introductions to establish a comfortable and open environment. We will then delve into the specific challenges you are currently facing. By understanding your unique circumstances and needs, I will be able to create a personalized plan that addresses your concerns and guides our work together in subsequent sessions. This tailored approach ensures that our therapeutic sessions are focused, relevant, and aimed at achieving your desired outcomes.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

After gaining experience working with adults for the past 8 years, I have developed a reliable approach to assist you in (a) identifying the root cause of your challenges and (b) creating a personalized plan that results in significant progress, which can be measured.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a structured, goal-oriented, and problem-focused type of psychotherapy that helps people identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. CBT is based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected, and that negative thoughts can lead to negative feelings and behaviors. The goal of CBT is to help people learn to cope with their lives without therapy by developing practical strategies to improve their state of mind.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people learn to manage their emotions, improve relationships, and cope with challenging situations. I have over 5 years experience as a DBT therapist. I encourage a nonjudgmental attitude and emphasize acceptance and compassion. I also help patients develop skills that can be used in their daily lives.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a treatment that helps children, adolescents, and their caregivers cope with trauma-related difficulties. A therapist who uses TF-CBT might describe it as a safe space to: Talk about what happened and how you feel Process thoughts, feelings, and memories Learn skills to cope with trauma Face and resolve trauma Integrate traumatic experiences Progress through life in a safe and positive way. TF-CBT uses cognitive behavioral principles and exposure techniques. It can help with symptoms of: Post-traumatic stress disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Fear, Behavior problems, and Caregiver difficulties

Strength-Based

I use Strength-based therapy is talk therapy that guides you toward a retelling of your personal history of traumas, stressors, and pain with more emphasis on yourself as a survivor than as a victim, and more emphasis on your strengths and survival skills than on your weakness.
