My name is Emma Engel. I received my Master's degree as an Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist/ Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in 2003 from the University of Hawaii. I have 20 years of experience working in various settings, treating persons suffering from mental health symptoms. I have specialized post graduate training in diagnosing and treating Autism, ADHD and other mental health concerns in a pediatric population.
In our first session together (45-60minutes) I gather information from the patient and/or parents or guardians. I like to start with early childhood information, experiences and trauma. Then assess current symptoms and concerns. Together, the patient, family and I work to come up with the best possible treatment, including counseling, medications, integrative techniques etc., in order to improve symptoms and thus improve quality of life.
I have 20 years of experience and education. I have worked with all ages in all situations. I stay abreast of new medications and treatment modalities.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents and young adults suffering with mental health symptoms. I also working with patients suffering from substance use disorders. I have diagnosed and treated patients as young as 3 years of age.
I have 20 years of experience assessing, diagnosing and treating child, adolescent and adult mental health symptoms such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder and substance abuse. For cash payment, I charge $150 for the initial assessment, which lasts 45 to 60 minutes and $75 for the 25 to 30 minute follow up appointments.
