Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) based in Illinois. I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have been practicing for almost 10 years. Over the past decade I have had the privilege of working with a variety of clients of various age ranges and personal needs. My passion working with clients is to help them strive to become the best version of themselves and reach the goals they desire.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start by going over the basic rules, limits, and expectations of therapy and confidentiality. This will be followed up with gathering information on what brought you to therapy and what you (the client) hope to accomplish with our time together. The remainder of our session will be focused on building a therapeutic rapport.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I take pride in my eclectic approach to therapy as we have a story to be told regardless of one’s background. In addition, I am multicultural sensitive and knowledgeable in diverse populations. I work to advocate and provide services to minority populations such as: Individuals with Disabilities, Women and related issues, Racial/Ethnic related issues, and LGBTQI community members.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My passion is helping individuals of all ages, identify and build on personal strengths in order to make positive changes in their lives. I believe that people begin to grow, as well as heal, when they truly feel heard and supported. Using an empathetic, holistic, and non-judgmental approach to therapy I work with my clients to understand who they are now and who they wish to become.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; I help my clients begin to understand that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are closely linked & can influence each other. By teaching clients a variety of skills such as: Learning practical self-help strategies, Identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts, and Identifying ways to change or modify their behavior; Clients can begin to see and feel more in control over their thoughts, feelings and behaviors on a daily basis.

Eclectic

While working with clients, I often take an eclectic approach to therapy as there is not one for of treatment that fits all. With clients I adapt to their individual needs and combine a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches. Some of these may include but are not limited to: Multicultural Therapy, Mindfulness- Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Strength Based Approach, and Gender Affirming Therapy.
